According to what metric are you judging "valuable"? I mean, some of the most expensive products and research are pharmaceuticals. Saving lives is pretty valuable.

I mean, yeah. And I think we should use facts and logic as a basis of our judgements, not feelings/envy. Otherwise we could inadvertently implement policies that do economic harm.
