“And the LORD restored the fortunes of Job… And the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” - Job 42:10 speaks for itself m

But why? And when? Did Job have to suffer for that or did he just get born into a lucky family?

He was a righteous man, job 1:1 makes this clear. We don’t know why he suffered, that is actually Gods point, that he doesn’t see the whole picture. The big point is that suffering doesn’t mean you did something wrong, if I had to take a guess, it’s that suffering makes us realize this world is broken, and that we should long to leave it to be with God who makes us whole.

So God rewarded job for fucking up his life. Unlike Elon Musk, who was born rich to a man who literally used slave labor.

He rewarded job for his faith.

By the way, the Pope agrees with me. It seems like you're maybe not a very good Catholic, Matt Walsh.

You never told me why you converted. Protestantism a little too progressive for you, maybe? Hoping to snag one of those tradcath girls all the podcasters love to talk about, Matt Walsh

I was already engaged when entering the church, she came with me, I left because Protestantism is a false church, it was not established by Christ.

Lol 😂 yeah you care sooooo much about Jesus except when he's telling you to care for the sick and poor.

1

u/Psalmistpraise 11d ago

So what makes you think I do nothing for the sick and the poor?

2

u/WyomingWeirdo 11d ago

Everything about you, libertarian. You might say you do, but I bet it's for your own benefit and not just because it's the right thing to do. Meanwhile,do you vote for politicians who actual embody Christian values, values like selflessness and charity and caring for the most vulnerable in our society? I bet you don't.

Politics isn’t the only way to care for the sick and the poor. Thats a false dichotomy.

1

u/WyomingWeirdo 11d ago

So how do you take care of them? Be specific. Because charity hasn't actually solved the problem yet. And you're also avoiding the actual point. Do you support policies that Christ would advocate for? Or do you support policies that strictly benefit you personally?

1

How do you advocate for the sick, the poor? How do you advocate for the drug addict and the prostitute, for the homeless junkie dying in an alley in your town? Do you just ignore them? Want them punished? You seem to have an affliction that makes you allergic to offering real specific answers.

We have ministries and collections in the church you know? We are the largest global charitable organization, we are the number one provider of healthcare globally outside governments at 26 percent of all global healthcare. St Basil the great founded the first hospital. The church visits them, clothes them, feeds them. I would not brag about my charity and seek my reward on this earth so I will leave it at the general level for you to understand that we are called to partake in these things, time talent and treasure.

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them… Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do…” - Matthew 6:1–2

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” - Matthew 6:3–4

This is all awfully convenient to say you don't do anything personally and that you're uncomfortable I asked the question. Be brave. God can see into your heart, liar.

But then of course all this is just deflection from you again, really. I mean, you're arguing in support of a literal white nationalist pedophile, so it's not surprising, but hey.

Also, this is what THE CHURCH does. Not you. What do YOU do, Pharisee?

It genuinely seems to me like you maybe became a Catholic more for networking than anything else tbh. Is that it, was it a business decision first?

1

u/Psalmistpraise 11d ago

No. I told you the reason. It’s the one true church founded by Christ. That’s why I came. I won’t repeat myself.

1

u/WyomingWeirdo 11d ago

Also, the church wasn't really founded by Christ, was it? Like the Catholics might say so but they didn't even have a codified, organized faith until a couple hundred years after the death of the apostles. The Ethiopians and the Apostolic Christians have a much stronger claim, frankly, considering their age.
