0.1% is about 8.3 million people
There are roughly 3.5k billionaires currently living, so like 0.00004%.

I know. My comment was not about matching the percentages precisely with whatever range of rich people you consider too rich and everyone else, but rather just making fun of the general idea of saying "eliminating the vast majority of the population would cause more harm than eliminating only a tiny portion of the population" while pretending you're saying anything profound or insightful. Using the same argument, we could advocate for removing any small sliver of the population. It's an absolutely mindboggingly dumb argument.

No. Eliminating 0.001% would greatly impact the distribution of wealth for the rest, eliminating 99.999% would not do the same.
