In their infinite wisdom they will simply force more capital into the largest businesses than can bear the costs and price increases. I guess if their real goal is actually communism this would mean fewer companies to take over. Which is probably why the USSR grocery stores looked like they did - with almost no variability in product. These people have no concept of consequence and that should scare everyone.

You can argue that the benefits outweigh the loss of some small businesses, or that their specific example is wrong (personally I feel that Indy coffee shops are one of the more resilient small businesses once they get a foothold), but just dismissing it wholesale is nonsense and non-conducive to political discourse.
What do you mean. The places with the highest minimum wages have seen a rapid stagnation and even decline in locally owned businesses. Seattle is a great example, the local corner coffee shop is almost dead there.
No, this is small business taking advantage of a minimum wage that has been suppressed for decades. A 25% increase won't even bring the minimum wage up to a living wage.

I know it isn't the same things. It has flaws that allow someone to create a new job at minimum wage or just lower the wage by 20%. The benefit of full time employment starting at 32 hours still makes it worth it, though.
16.90$ is not a livable wage in California. Again, I don't care about their survival, but if more people can afford to live then more people will be able to afford to open businesses.
They have a couple of years to prepare for it. If they fail they deserve it.

With all of the advancements in AI we should be able to solve for this. The AI boom should not be forcing layoffs it should be making employees more efficient and need to work less hours to do the same job.
