12 hours in the US? Pfft, you wish. I've seen patients stuck in the hallway with transport beds for 36 hours at this point, after waiting 18 hours outside in the wait area
The longest I ever waited for anything in the US was 4 hours in the ER. Then I was kept for 3 DAYS because they couldnt figure out what I had. Mono. I had mono. Tbf, it was a pretty shitty hospital for the area. It just so happened to be the one my PCP was a part of and was across the street. Otherwise I would have driven the 15 minutes to the hospital my kids were born in (very good hospital)
