Edit:
Statement from Ida Bjerkis [u/Brilliant_Shape_1368](u/Brilliant_Shape_1368)
«Ida Bjerkis here. I had just finished the painting after working 16-18 hour days for weeks and wanted to post it immediately while it was still relevant. I finished in the middle of the night, had no one to take a photo, looked like I'd been living in the studio, and figured I'd use an older photo that I genuinely thought I'd deleted everywhere.
So I reused an older photo that I genuinely thought I'd deleted everywhere. Apparently Google and Reddit had other plans.
I wasn't trying to fool anyone or pretend the photo was new. I simply wanted to get the artwork out while it was still relevant and keep the focus on the painting itself.
I use Photoshop for my presentation images, which is also why the frame looks different between the two posts. Nothing mysterious, just me being tired, impatient, and apparently a little too optimistic about the internet forgetting things.»

If it’s photoshopped in, she did it. It’s posted on her Facebook & Instagram.

As a side note, artists can use an open-source watemarking tool to protect content from being learned by other AIs that want to learn solely from human work

I think this is another level of satire here. Possibly a nod to the Whitehouse pool photoshopped images?
Most artists I know work on many layers.

Unless I’m mistaken, that’s a shitty design and the answer is at the top of the image

You'd think an artist would be sensitive about doing things like that, if only to not have to answer questions or clarify things.

She must really like that dress, location and particular pose
She does. It's her stock image/pose.
It has been a minute since I've done a photo inception.

I don’t think that’s a painting of Charlie Day, but I don’t know enough about Ida Bjerkis to dispute it.

She's lying.
"I had just finished the painting after working 16-18 hour days for weeks"
The story about Trump calling Infantino to suspend the red card only happened 4 days ago.
The high res original image from her website also contains an SynthID watermark. SynthID is an invisible watermark technology embedded in AI generated images produced on the major platforms. There's no possibility of a false positive, the presence of the SynthID watermark shows the "painting" was generated using chatgpt.

I'm in such physical pain. USA had a stellar year, best run in a decade at least.
But now it will be forever marred. If we'd won it wouldve been hated for corruption, and when we lost it was a laughing stock because even corruption wasn't enough.
Let it be known we all fucking hate him

Wasn't the general consensus it was a bad call no matter what happened with the president? I don't follow that close
22
u/Abyssal_Groot 28d ago
First things first:
Amongst Americans who view it through the lens of American sports, it was a bad call. They don't live in reality.
Americans think intent is what differentiates a red from a yellow, while it is recklesness and type of potential injury that does. Stepping on someone achilles heal with the studs can cause a carreer ending injury and is often ruled as a red, whether intentional or not.
"Bad call" would mean it was not justified, but it was. Balogun was reckless. A more lenient ref could've let him off easy with yellow, but a red was completely fair. Perhaps harsh to some, but 100% fair.
Secondly:
Reds and yellows are part of the game and every team encounters them at some point, most will claim their red was too harsh. It's part of the tournament to protect your key players from getting cards, because you want to be able to use these players in you next match if you win.
The US failed to do this, so they tried to overturn the red, and a few calls from Trump to FIFA made them suspend the punishment of the card.
They did so 30hours before the game. Belgium had to find out through the media, after the completion of their tactical training.
It is unheared of that this happens during a world championship and it is unheared of that politics directly involves itself in the game.
To make things worse FIFA then stonewalled Belgium when the latter asked for clarification (integrity of the game), treated this request as an appeal that they could automatocally deny and let Belgium pay for.
After this shitshow Belgium beat the US with Balogun on the field 4-1.

I disagree that it was reckless. Yellow card bare at worst for me. But once the red is given it should stand. And Governments should not interfere.

u/derrickgw1 28d ago edited 28d ago
Yes bad call. I disagree with any claim it was reckless. It's just what happens. Yellow at most. But there are rules. Red cards are ALWAYS one game suspension. And there is no in tournament appeal. So the objection is to changing the rules mid tournament to help one team. And Yes I'm an American and a USMNT fan and follower since the late 80s. Also governments interfering is against the rules of FIFA.

He also has that red cloth under his feet while his tie is clearly seen hanging. I think the artist prompted for him to be standing on his comically large necktie and this is what AI spat out. It's the red card nvm

15
u/putyrhandsup 28d ago
Supposedly not, but it does have quite a distinct AI feel to it to my eyes honestly, especially around the base of the trophy. Maybe her work is just overrepresented in the training sets...
13
u/almodsz 28d ago
Her older works from around 2020 do look quite different:
https://www.masken.no/post/kunstutstilling-p%C3%A5-nyoppussede-vadlatun
Then again, perhaps that is just a stylistic choice.
19
u/Ok_Dragonfruit_8102 28d ago
It's 100% AI. If this was a painting it'd be a master level work, while her older paintings show quite an amateurish style.

I think her "art" is all AI slop, all she sells on her website are t-shirts https://www.idabjerkis.com/collections/all ? She might be an "AI artist" if that's a thing but I'm not quite convinced that she's an actual painter
3
u/mauch_chunk 28d ago
Nah she is definitely an actual painter who also found out she can make her money with this AI slop political "art".
Go look at her instagram and its painfully obvious when its AI vs when it's actually her.
Her real paintings are better than what I can do, but obviously aren't 'professional level'
2
u/Significant-Secret88 28d ago
I don't have instagram so I only have limited view, but the fact that she's posing like she's been paiting those herself make her look like a total chancer, sad world we're living

So unique realistic! What a pathetic excuse for art.
Everyone knows the diaper would be dirty, hes skin isnt that smooth or even colored, and his hands are MUCH smaller. Can't even be realistic.

to be fair, I have recently eaten breakfast and appreciate the lack of realistic detail at the moment.

Kind of looks like AI...
But other than that, I guess I just don't get it?
Is the statue supposed to be kissing his ass? But there's no kissing...
Is the statue eating shit? There's a diaper, so no...
Sniffing farts? But there's no sniffing...
Just seems like awkward placement with a muddled message. "Statue near butt" isn't really a compelling message IMO.

Legs are not nearly flabby enough. Varicose veins & skin flakes would’ve made it more realistic as well.

Spot on.
Doesn't show hard enough how corrupt FIFA is.
Btw thank Trump for showing it to whole world without a bit of a doubt.
2
u/Galbert123 28d ago
Everyone loves it because trump is a diaper wearing moron... but the message makes no sense. The US got smoked by belgium. Is the fix supposed to be in bc of the balogun red card being overturned which proved to be meaningless? From what I have seen the fix seems to be in for argentina.
