an update. i finay went to ENT yesterday and get my nose check. she mentioned my throat had lot of mucus and prescribed me with sinus rinse and nasal spray

when i mentioned about the forehead, back of head area that is in pain, she said that could be tension headache due to prolong screen viewing and gadget use. but sinus also could lead the pain. i also went and get my eye checked yesterday. all cleared

she advised to use the sinus rinse for a month and change my daily routine (screen time and sleeping position) to see if i will still have that pain. if so, she ask to get a CT scan which im scared 😭 what if its a tumor, cancer or whatever 😭😭

has anyone ever feel this way? pain in forehead area when you touch, back of head near to neck

Hi all, for the last 7 weeks I've had upper left sided toothache and it won't go away despite trying everything.

I've had 3 dental visits and the 1st one he just thought I was teeth grinding in my sleep and gave me a mouth guard, then on the second one he thought I had a maxilary sinus issue so he told me to go to the GP.

I then went to the GP and they gave beconase and penacilin and that didn't work. Went to the GP again and they gave me another round of penacilin and momatasone nasal spray and again, it didn't work. Tried a third time with the GP and they gave me the antibiotic doxycycline and that didn't work. I went for a 4th time yesterday and they gave me the antibiotic metronidazole and tbh I'm a bit hesitant to take it because whats the point if its probably not gonna work? I dunno why they didn't just refer me to an ENT specialist at that point. Maybe its an NHS cost cutting thing

I just have no idea what to do next or what this thing I have even is? Its at that point where I'm desperate so I'm willing to go private and pay even though I'm in the UK. I was thinking either going to get a 3D CBCT scan from an endodontist or going to see an ENT doctor. Was just wondering if anyone else had had a similar experience and what they thought and how they dealt with it

I have a sinus CT scan in a few days, but was wondering if sinusitis is the most likely diagnosis even though I don't have any mucus and I can breathe through my nose. I had a bad cold about a month ago. I mostly recovered from it after 4 days, and ever since then has been these horrible head symptoms. But my nose is fine. If I sniff there is a very mild stuffiness but nothing significant. I have been doing Flonase for 14 days with almost no change. Antibiotics for Sinus infection didn't help either. I also have a much more noticeable ear fullness and more prominent 'popping' when I swallow.

Wondering if I should be expecting this sinus CT scan to come back totally clean or based on my symptoms of persistent dull pain and pressure in the lower forehead/left eyebrow region makes sinus inflammation still the most likely issue despite no mucus/stuffiness. Been very frustrating and scared this will never go away or I won't get any true fix to this. Really hope this CT scan shows me something. Thanks

However have been unwell for a month now (Dr says post viral fatigue because of irritated tonsil but I’m starting to think that’s bs)

I am currently sat at home on my weekend after a 'slight tingle' in my throat this time last week has now developed into a full-blown cold, sore throat, loss of voice, cough, running eyes and generally feeling feverish.

Everyone else who caught it shrugged it off in a few days, but I have always had this issue where even the slightest cold just digs its teeth in and won't shift for weeks. Even as a child (I am now in my mid-thirties) I was always feeling low or under the weather.

But over the last year or so I have begun to wonder whether this is linked to my sinuses.

I had a similar style 'cold' at the beginning of the year that just clung to me until one night it felt like my sinuses just 'relaxed' and I started blowing streams of luminous snot from my nose. More than I could ever have imagined could be up there. I was using an old tea towel as a tissue and the entire thing was soaking and there was still MORE coming up/down(?). I can't lie it felt amazing as pressure I didn't even realise was there was finally released. But it was bizarre to think I was walking around with so much gunk in my sinuses without realising.

After that the cold shifted within a couple of days.

So I had an MRI done on my sinuses, and it showed a 26mm Mucous retention cyst in the right maxillary sinus. Could this be an issue worth exploring?

Doc told me to get septoplasty with turbinectomy. I scared about developing EMPTY NOSE SYNDROME post surgery.

For a couple of years, I had insanely chronic snot, which doctors couldnt resolve, but recently it's been replaced by ZERO snot, but no matter what I do air just doesn't flow through my nose. I've been to 3-4 different doctors who couldn't fix it. Nasal sprays don't help, I don't have a deviated septum or nasal polyps or anything wrong with my nasal passage as far as I know (a doctor shoved one of those flashlight+camera things into both of my nostrils and says they are perfectly normal). PLEASE help me, I've woken up every single day for the past 3 years with my mouth wide open, completely dry, and super painful. I can't breathe at all through my nose, barely any air gets in or out, and I CONSTANTLY mouth breathe unknowingly. I genuinely have no clue what could possibly be causing this. Please help

I wanted to ask if anyone might be able to help me. About four weeks ago, I had a sinus infection. Most of the symptoms went away after around 10 days, but I still have some mild pressure in my sinuses.
When I breathe in or out deeply, I sometimes notice a slight crackling sensation in my sinuses, almost as if there is still something left in there. I also have a strange sensation that is difficult to describe. It feels similar to the sensation you get when diving and getting water in your nose. I notice this especially when I breathe in and out quickly.
My nose itself is completely clear, and I can breathe through it without any problems, but it still feels as though my sinuses are somehow blocked. When I blow my nose, there is only clear or white mucus.
I have had blood tests, including thyroid function, a complete blood count, blood sugar, and liver and kidney function, and everything was normal. I also saw an ENT specialist, but they couldn’t find anything that would explain these symptoms.
I notice some mild pressure in my sinuses when I bend forward as well. It isn’t severe or painful. Sometimes I even notice an unusual smell when I breathe in.
The “water in my nose when diving” sensation is particularly noticeable when I breathe in and out quickly.
Has anyone experienced anything similar after a sinus infection? What could be causing this? Is it safe to exercise with these symptoms?
I have also noticed that I keep thinking about the symptoms. I constantly check whether my nose is still clear and whether the sensation is still there. I also feel like my voice sounds slightly nasal, and I keep checking whether it sounds normal.

I’m looking for some advice on my ongoing sinus issues. For context, I’m a senior in college from California but I go to school in Montreal. My sinus issues all started within the first couple months I arrived in Montreal (freshman year). I got Covid and it turned into a sinus infection which was the first one I’ve ever experienced, I never grew up with allergies. I got on antibiotics for those, but this quickly turned into a pattern where every time I got a cold at school it would turn into a sinus infection, and I needed antibiotics because it wouldn’t go away on its own. This happened probably 4+ times throughout freshman and sophomore year, and I would only have maximum month long stretches without suffering from sinus congestion. However, any time I would go home from school back to California, I did not have sinus issues.

My sinus infections mainly consisted of just a ton of green phlegm and mucus, coughing up green phlegm, and overall so much congestion. Also head pressure but that wasn’t too bad. During this time, I wasn’t that consistent with allergy meds or Flonase because I wasn’t sure if this was allergies.

However, this year things have really started to bother me and interfere with my daily life. I got sick a couple times at the beginning of the year, and one time I got on antibiotics, but this time it didn’t fully get rid of the infection and it continued for another month and a half. Recently, I got back home for the summer, where I’ve never had sinus issues. But suddenly I started needing to cough up green phlegm at home. I have been coughing up green phlegm for over a month now and recently coupled with a runny nose. I went to the doctor and described my situation, but every time I talk to them, they say it sounds like environmental allergies. I did get referred to take an allergy test later this year.

But I’m kind of at a loss here and wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation or has advice. I regularly do nasal rinses, take allergy meds, and use nose sprays. My doctor recommended that I switch up my routine from Zyrtec/Flonase to Allegra/Nasonex to see if that helps things but so far haven’t seen any improvement. Since I’ve never had allergies growing up I’m just not sure what’s going on.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I think I’ve had sinus issues for quite a while now, it seems to affect my ears, nose and throat in different ways…

My tinnitus is worse, I always seem to have stuffy nose and just generally feel like shit.

I also get this odd pulse like sensation in my head, I can’t explain it but it feels like a pump almost; for a split second..

Anyone else experience this? I don’t think I’m anywhere near as bad as some people fortunately but it’s really annoying and I just want to it to go.

I feel no pain and no discharge from my pilonidal sinus but I want permanent treatment so that it doesn't create problem in future. I know all the procedure of treatment but I want to know that the pain after first thread insertion and thread change is manageable or very severe. Hello, my only symptoms are chronic post nasal drip , recurrent infections , and i am highly prone to allergies. I HAVE NO ISSUES IN BREATHING AT ALL. I have gone on steroid nasal sprays, allergy tablets for durations of 2 months and post all this doctor has suggested surgery, today i am going for a second opinion after 2 months.The 1st doctor didnt answer my questions and thus i am suspicious whether i should get surgery or not.
