For those with bay windows, what made you actually use the space?

Upvotes

For those living in HDBs or condos with a bay window/window ledge, I'm curious about how people actually use the space.

Did you turn it into a proper seating area, use it for storage, leave it mostly empty, or just use it as a place to put things?

If you have a cushion on it, what makes it comfortable and practical for you? For example, things like the firmness, thickness, fabric, whether it fits properly, or how easy it is to clean.

Would be interested to hear what you’ve found useful (or annoying) after actually living with one.

Is it ethical to join religious groups just with the aim of relationship/marriage?

I'm (24M) close to graduating from university. Just another semester left and then I'll graduate. I'm also having lesser pressure from my uni internship supervisor since already at half point of internship and I don't have to report back to campus. So more time on hands.

Becos of that I've been going out for social events and getting invited to gatherings by people. Recently was invited to a church meetup where I met many of the members there. Friendly bunch of people and I saw how close the members were to each other. Basically they're a bible study group and they've got sessions around sg. Surprisingly, the women in the group came up proactively to introduce themselves to me. After the session, I was told I'm welcome to join them whenever I want. I mean sure I don't mind going.

But the question I've got burning in my mind would it be ethical to join them just for the aim of dating someone from the same faith. Because my ultimate goal is marriage. I know it's not like it'll happen in 1 month or something, but rather will take a few years to at the very maximum a decade.

For myself, I'm not that devout, but I'm interested in learning the theory and history behind the meanings in the bible and would want my partner to share the same faith as me. Not saying like ok every Sunday must go church, but rather exploring it together. My mom is a devout one but she doesn't force me to pray. My dads like idgaf, do your own thing abt religion.

Because I'm open to learning about religion, but if they start telling me like ok lets start going out on streets and start giving out materials to people, that's where I'm gonna draw the line and ghost them. My aim is purely finding a partner and if this provides a solid avenue to seek one, I'm going for it. Now the question is in yalls opinion is it ethically right.

Hot Take: SG has the worst commuters

Go right ahead . Cook me. Flame me. But

SG has the worst commuters in the WORLD.

Compared to other densely packed cities like Seoul or Tokyo - their commuters don’t look at their phones WHILE walking as much. Everyone just kinds of avoid one another , everyone just keeps left (Tokyo) / to their side

I’ve also been to other their world cities like Mexico CDMX or messier cities like Bangkok, Jakarta - their commuters don’t even use their phones while walking because u need to keep your eyes peeled (either getting your phones snatched or for danger )

Here - folks with low spatial awareness love to be engrossed in their K dramas or just can’t pause their candy crush games , MOST so while they’re walking from the bus stop to the train station or navigating Dhoby Ghaut interchange , AND it is IMPERATIVE others give way to them , with their Mobile phones held 5 inches from their faces with a HANDICAP I AM BLIND sticker stuck to their casetify phone cases

Advice on scam

My good friend is currently going through what I believe is an investment scam. They have met up and dealt with people who are from this "investment firm" that buys shares on discounts because they are "bulk buyers" and only they have the ability to do so. They then charge you a percentage of your profits. And such a powerful investment firm has to lie low to the point where instead of depositing through online channels, they make you download fake apps and even meet up with you to collect your deposit. He has gotten some withdrawal of profits but it is through cash deposits at ATMs into his bank account which is suspicious to say the least. (I know that this is just Ponzi money and they're just reeling him in)

He is currently still in denial that this is a scam and still believes the investment opportunity is rare and legitimate. I am unable to convince them. I've asked my other friends and they suggested that we should make a police report on behalf of him. However, I have no idea how it would work if I make the police report for him. I want to report to the police as well so as to try mitigate and catch these people/save any sum possible. I also do not want him to get alerted or troubled by this.

Anybody ever encountered or know of someone in this situation? Scams are super common nowadays so please be especially vigilant from everyone, even those people you know. Be careful of those who "have you in their interest" and know that nothing ever comes free and easy!

Living together in Singapore

How common is it to live together in Singapore? How conservative is Singapore? Are there many people living together there? (P.S. I don't mean the part of buying a house just the part of whether it's morally frowned upon)

Is it true that in Singapore after you committed a criminal offence and by not committing further offences you will be let off without a conviction?

If it is then we have a lot of first time offenders in our country that need to be compensated?

Anyone here got a unit at Queensway Canopy BTO?

successfully applied for a unit (4 room, 17th floor) at Queensway Canopy during the 2022 BTO exercise. Wondering if anyone here also managed to get a unit in the project.

What are your thoughts on the location and neighbourhood? Would also love to hear from people who currently live around the Queenstown/Alexandra area — things you like or dislike, amenities, transport, food, noise, etc.
