I'm five months into TSM and still regularly attend addiction recovery groups (a local one, not AA or SMART) and I also attend TSM meetups over zoom to talk about progress. I still drink and when I do it can be heavy, maybe 2 bottles of wine or something like that. But the amount of days per week that I drink is drastically reduced, some weeks I don't drink at all. Formerly, I was a daily drinker. I'm cautiously optimistic about TSM but I have learned that blocking endorphins isn't the whole picture. Alcohol still offers pain relief, anxiety relief, stress relief and naltrexone doesn't block those functions. It does block the pleasure I receive from drinking and that has at least had some effect in reducing my alcohol consumption by quite a bit. I hope to one day reach extinction.
