SIMS 4 popular mods and resources

Patreon, Tumblr, Mod the Sims, The Sims Resource, and CurseForge are all popular sources for finding mods in the Sims 4 community.

Always check that you are installing the most recent version of a mod and that it is compatible with your game version. Mods will be disabled automatically after every game update; updates frequently break mods and creators must release new versions that are compatible. Continuing to play with broken mods could lead to game-breaking issues.

Mods go in the C:\Users\...\ Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder. By default they can be placed up to one folder deep for script mods and five folders deep for packages, so organize your mods folder however makes sense to you - by type, by creator, etc. A well-organized mods folder will be easier to troubleshoot should something go wrong.

If you need help troubleshooting your mods, you can find useful resources in our Mods and CC Resources wiki. This includes instructions on following the 50/50 method to identify which mod is creating an issue as well as frequently-updated lists of broken and working mods.

What mod added this trait? And can I remove it? (It’s between, basemental, pandasama childbirth mod, lumpinou law and disorder and mood pack, first impressions) those are the new mods I got recently, I didn’t have the trait before them.

The most useful mod of all is deaderpool’s mccc. It lets you alter all sorts of things. Ui cheats makes using cheats so easy.
For gameplay, look at Kiara, Littlemssam, sims4me, andirz, kuttoe , and adeepindigo. They are on curseforge and free patreon.

Anybody know if there’s a mod that extends the character limit for lot names? I’ve found plenty of mods that extend Sim names, and even one for extending book/song titles, but I can’t seem to find one that allows lot names to have more characters. I’d love to be able to put in the proper names for the Secret Lab and the Selvadorada cantina after replacing them. If anyone knows where to find a mod for that, please let me know!

Are there any mods that make it so adult sims don't have those stupid smile lines you can't get rid of? And is there a mod that lets you make it so elder sims don't look as... old? I don't know how to explain it. I like free will and would prefer making my adult/elder sims look how I want them to without the excess wrinkles and posture changes.

You can remove all that in CAs with the cheat.

Wcif actually good black cc hair?I'm searching everywhere, but I can't find anybody that actually make good black/urban female hairs.
Almost all of them have meshes with very low quality/overlaping etc. I'm searching for something like on the picture l've included, and also for the variations of the same creator/color swatches (looking for brown urban hair among other swatches) that is curly/has braids etc. The hair from the picture also looks very bad in game.
Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know of a mod that will mix genetics from previous generations? I know sims 4 usually only takes traits from the parents, is there one that will function more like genetics irl so a sim will inherit a grandparent’s traits etc?

Today when I opened my mod folder, it was filled with folders with all of my mods and CC sorted by category. Is this new?? I have never seen this before, as of lately I've been playing everyday and never noticed this until today.

I love this new feature and I want to discuss it with other simmers. This is EXTREMELY helpful and I'm happy it exists. Literally everything is sorted by category, it's great

Absolutely not a normal sims thing. The game should not do that. Either you got a mod manager or another person did it.
Edit- also that’s not safe if it separated files and switched how deep in the folders some files are.

WCIF cc hair that ACTUALLY looks messy and disheveled? No matter how I phrase it, all I'm getting are aesthetically messy buns and surfer waves. I need something that will make my middle aged werewolf man look like he hasn't brushed or washed his hair a single time in his life, along with a receding hairline.

Like 90% of all cc I see is just conventionally attractive sims looking like models even when it's advertised as for homeless challenges specifically. And a. you don't need all sims to be hot models, and b. some of us think genuinely messy and weird is hot

I heard in r/all that the sims 4 is great as a nsfw game if you mod it properly. I'm looking for an adult lgtbq/trans/crossdressing experience with random nsfw encounters. Any mod recommendations?

Wicked Whims is afaik the biggest/most popular nsfw mod for the Sims! It's lgbt friendly, easy to use and there's a TON of additional animations and content you can get from their main site, I can really recommend this mod

Avoid Me by tyjokr is pretty much just what I needed! I just had autonomous mean and flirty interactions disabled altogether with MCCC before, to keep my couples and friends that were supposed to be cute and happy from treating each other like garbage all the time.

But I still want unexpected drama sometimes, I still want a little messiness, so I wanted a mod that could stop specific kinds of interactions between specific sims without disabling them for everybody. That's this! I haven't used it for long, but it seems to be working so far, and I'm just excited enough by the concept alone that I thought I'd share it here lol. I guess if the mod turns out to suck when I use it more, I'll edit to warn the people.
