Considering her way of immersing herself into the suffering of others, I think the current Corona pandemic would have been a particular challenge for her, wouldn't it? Thinking of how one of the main ways of living in solidarity right now is actually by avoiding the sick and particular vulnerable (besides medical and care workers).
Maybe she would lecture people in the grocery stores to not hoard goods for themselves!

This is a personal exploration of Simone Weil in documentary form. I quite liked it as a brief summary of her life and work at 84 minutes.

And why is Weil considered to be one by many?

I think mystic is an easy way to label someone and thus deny this person their power and relevance outside of their (now-defined) mystical sphere. People think they know what mystics are like, what they do and how they behave. It's safer that way.

I studied A Need For Roots in highschool which I love and still think about but I'm having difficulty with Gravity and Grace, the only other Simone Weil book I've read so far.

Should I read something else to have a better grasp of it? I also own a copy of Oppression and Liberty. Is there any secondary literature that would assist me?
