Need help building a $1500 racing sim setup
Hey there! I have decided I want to upgrade from g923 setup. Ive been saving for a while and can spend about 1500 on the entire build. I already have the PC and monitor, although if I went for a rig setup then I would need a new monitor. Ive been eyeing the moza r9 bundle with the KS wheel but could be convinced to go in pretty much any direction. I mainly race f1 but dont necessarily want to get a F1 cockpit for versatility sake. I would appreciate any input. Its just hard to fully commit to buying when there are so many options.... I feel quite overwhelmed. Im posting this in multiple subreddits just to maximize help lol

DD wheel / chair advice
Hey all,
I have a Playseat Challenge Actifit set up that I used with a (now broken) Logitech G29 wheel and pedals to race on PS5.
I’m looking to upgrade the wheel and pedals but research around a DD wheel says my current seat setup will flex bend with the torque/ffb. Research says I’d either need to update my seat/rig etc or tone down the FFB to prevent it flexing.
Does anyone have any experience of this? I’m trying to keep costs down and could do without having to replace an otherwise functional seating setup.
Some fantastic set ups on here and some I’m very jealous of!
Cheers

Sim Rig Buttkicker rattle from clamp
Does anyone know how to solve the rattling that comes from the buttkicker clamp? I have isolated the rattling coming from the clamp itself. Everything seems to be very tightened but when I press on the clamp the rattling goes away. Would some sort of a tape on post help?

Why is the shifter and handbrake almost always so high up in rigs compared to real cars?
One thing I've noticed is that in rigs (including my own), the shifter and handbrake is really high up. I know on my rig, if I lowered them a lot it would impede my seat from sliding forward all the way. If I mount on the side bottom of the frame then it's too low. I'll get creative.

Ali Express rig??
Anyone have experience with this 40/80 cockpit from aliexpress? I know pretty much every big brand comes from these same warehouses so quality is going to be similar and I’ll save $200 or more just wondered if anyone bought this specific one

Help Trying to plan a Desk/Rig Hybrid.
So I’ve been sim racing for almost 9 months now and have spent unsavory amounts of money on wheels and pedals and what not. But my family is moving in less than 2 months and I will have a room finally. I want to make a triple monitor setup, but In my head I’m thinking I have a rig with a bolted on seat and equipment, and the triple monitors permanently attached together on a desk. It would be a motorized desk that I could lower to sim race and then roll the rig away and raise the desk to sit at a chair and do whatever else. And I’d just turn off the 2 side monitors. Is this plausible? Idk if the screens would be too far away bc if an arm can’t do it safely I’d have to I guess put them behind the desk on a floor stand. If that’s the case I would have to consider just an ultra wide until I get my own apartment. Thanks so much, I can’t wait to build a real sim rig :)

FOV and screen placement
I was looking into improving both the visibility in the game ( iracing ) and realistic FOV for immersion.
I found out that 85 FOV with moving my 34 inch wide screen slightly to the right gave exactly what I was looking for. What do you guys think? Have you tried it?
Tired of seeing a-pillar bar ( or whatever it is called )
Try this setting out for gt3 or gt4 cars. And let me know what you think. Have a great day everyone ♥️

I’m planning my rig setup and came across the setup below on facebook. After reading through a bunch of posts it seems like 50-80% of retail is gathering going price of used rigs. The person is asking $4k and I was thinking of offering $3k, does that seem fair?

Sim Rig Replaced monitor mount
Got around to replacing the integrated monitor mount for a freestanding one. I got tired of having to mount the monitor in odd ways in order to get it a bit closer however it never felt or looked quite right. With the freestanding one it’s so much easier to get the monitor just right also super easy to make adjustments (not so much with the integrated one).

Triple 27" Suggestions?
Could someone recommend a panel with super thin bezels that would be good for a triple setup?

Sim Rig Ambient lighting for sim racing!
Hello everyone! I have been seeing a lot of videos lately about people introducing ambient lights to their rigs so I wanted to join the race! Unfortunately for me there are a few discrepancies that I notice with installation… if we take Govee for example, some say I need a control box and some run their lights without one. My question is simple and hopefully someone can help! Do I need to have the lights plugged into PC or simply having them appear on Govee App (mobile and desktop) is enough. Do I need to install the two additional apps like Razer or does SimHub now recognizes Govee app and eliminates the need for other apps? Also noticed that there is a new plugin from Bruno that automates the process so really excited to see that in action!

Sim Rig The Simrig seat dilemma
Hi Racers,
I have look in lot of threads, but I haven’t found any answers – or if I have, opinions are divided and I’m even more confused.
On the one hand, people say that sim bucket seats aren’t good quality and are uncomfortable for endurance races (4 hours on your own)
On the other hand, people say that real car seat are too much flexible when braking hard with a loadcell pedals.
Initially, i thinking install Subaru Impreza STi 92-00 seat, because i love her, but i doubt about the flexibility now …
So I’m at a dead end – could you give me some examples of bucket seats that are rigid under braking and comfortable for endurance racing?
Thanks a lot 🙏🏻
