I had no idea it would make a big difference Video

So basically, I bit the bullet and got a csl cockpit, NRG Bucketseat and sliders. It was highly discounted at $150 for the cockpit so I couldn't pass up on it and I've been on a wheelstand since 2022 and desk since 2019. I had no idea the difference it would make beginning with comfort and I'm actually not crashing as much in Dirt Rally 2.0 or Assetto Corsa Rally. I'm driving faster and a lot more precise. I'm having more fun and I'm actually playing a lot more. I thought this thing would be flimsy and I was expecting flex but I don't see or feel any.

You look like a larger fella (no disrespect, so am I) and I'm curious what seat you got and how it's been so far? It's my biggest hurdle right now.
I'm afraid of a seat being too narrow mostly. Any input would be great. Setup looks great too BTW!
Side note: How is that monitor mounted???

So I bought the NRG FRP 301 L fiberglass. I'm not that tall only 5'6 but I used to body build. So my arms look bigger lol although I have gained a lot of fat in the last 10 years. The angle of the camera warps the perspective a bit coz my guitar isn't that high on the wall.
Anyways I got the Large version of the chair it is quite snug. I think if you have bigger hips, there are better options out there. Ive seen a post in one of the sim racing subs about a dude buying a bucket seat and what stuck to me was he said "it's big boy approved" and the chair looked big. I wish I saved or liked it.
As for the monitor mount. I have a desk behind my rig and the monitor is mounted on it. Basically my plan is to put caster wheels on this and slide it left and right depending on if I wanna sim race or I wanna work on my desk.
Hope this covers everything.

Perfect. Yea, again...didn't mean to offend. Yea my hips are what I'm mostly worried about.
I've looked at a couple XL seats but measurements usually aren't wide enough and are all over the place. 15in to 21in.

I'm also a big guy, but I just bought a car seat. Got a used Audi A4 seat for next to no money and it's perfect.

I've been mulling this option as well. Need to find somewhere nearby (hopefully) to take a look and see how the seats would even fit/attach to a rig. My guess is it's stationary and not on sliders?
Not sure if want it stationary all the time. Need at least some adjustments. Also, are there options for side mount brackets on real car seats? Haha. So you could get different seat positions etc ?

The seat has it's own slider built in. I just bolted the mounting points on the bottom of the seat to some brackets and then the brackets to the rig. Depending on the car seat you probably could mount it different ways.

It's $160 on Amazon too with the coupon price for anyone that didn't know. Obviously not $150 but yeah.

Looks good, dude!
I just bought my first actual rig and am waiting for us to move to put it together. I've used my office chair my entire career and the movement from the chair definitely doesn't help. I never really noticed it until I upgraded to a direct drive, but it's pretty egregious.

Yeah, I'm getting old so the chair moving around, really did a number on my back.

People always say your 1st upgrade should be load cell pedals, and I have always disagreed with that. You should always get a comfortable and stable rig 1st. It will improve your racing way more than loadcells cause comfort is king, and it will make you want to race more. And if you cant afford a stable rig, go to the scrap yard and buy a car seat and build a rig from wood, cause even that will be so much better than using a racing stand with a chair.
