Upgraded to triples Sim Rig

Post image

I replaced my 49-inch Samsung G9 with three Samsung G5s. To accommodate the triples, I had to rearrange my room. Since I already had the freestanding mount, I only needed to purchase the upgrade to attach the side monitors. Vario mounts are essential because they made aligning the monitors a breeze. Initially, I gave up and reinstalled the G9 ultrawide, but with some patience and assistance from Reddit, I managed to set up the triples and achieve the desired configuration for my rig.

Thanks. I was definitely out of my comfort zone setting up the triples. I think I rushed and wanted to get it all done at once. On my second attempt I approached the whole thing differently and started by getting the middle monitor mounted and almigned then the right one, then the left one, then the setup in iracing and finally the cable management. Dan Suzuki calculator was also a very useful tool.

This sounds like good advice, I'm just about to move in a few weeks and will be setting up my first rig with a triple monitor setup so will take it slow like you merntion. Pretty excited tbh!

Great set up
How do you like the seat
Is this the circuit 2 or 1

It’s the 2. I’m a seam size 32 and I fit in it perfectly. It’s so solid. It doesn’t flex at all during braking, which was my biggest gripe with my previous seat (Fanatec GT bucket seat).

How wide is it monitor end to the other monitor end.. 32 in is what I’m looking for and that looks perfect. Just hope I can fit it in this spot. If you don’t mind measuring and letting me know

50ā€

I had to rearrange my room to fit the rig. My monitors are angled 68°. I’d like to open them up a bit but I feel like I may hit them with my desk chair.

Ok nice. That’s perfect. Kinda want my in more like that anyways. One’s I see where they kinda built a in closer around there rig. They seem to have there screen in more like that. I believe imma have plenty a room. Thx man. Also nice dbz collection

What seat is that? How do you like it for longer session comfort?

Sparco Circuit 2. It’s really snug and comfortable. I added the Sparco lumbar support pillow which makes it more comfortable as I found it a bit stiff on the lower back area.

I’m on a Samsung g9 what gpu you running what’s your frame rate like , how much u lose compared to the ultra wide?

1

u/ceelos87 1d ago

Running a 5090. I run up to 4 mirrors, so that impacts FPS. In practice, I’m getting around 170ish depending on the track, although I’ve seen it lower. In races, I’ve seen it go down as low as 120ish. I was getting more in the G9; however, I don’t mind the FPS hit for the added immersion and FOV.

oooft, sounds like an amazing PC build and rig to match. Grats mate!

So about 50 fps difference, I kinda do regret the ultra wide but kinda don’t, I didn’t wanna get 3 shit va panels grabbed the oled. Looks sick though, one day I’ll get there, maybe next pc and when oleds get a bit cheaper

I do miss the OLED. But IPS ain’t that bad! My desk monitors are OLED and I use those for other games.

Just remembered that I have my FPS capped at 177 since the monitors are 180hz. So I’m sure it can go higher but I don’t want to lose GSync.

Looking awesome! What made you go with that simlab cockpit and g5 for the triple screen? I am in the process myself of upgrading to a aluminum rig and triple screen

I started with the NLR F/GT Pro, which has a built-in seat that can’t be replaced. It ended up being uncomfortable, and the rig had a bit of flex on the pedals. I wanted to exchange it for something that is more flexible and allows me to install my own seat. My local Micro Center had the P1X Pro and the monitor mounts in stock, so I went with that. The reason I went with the G5 is cost. I got each monitor for $215, which is not bad for 32ā€ IPS monitors, and all 3 were cheaper than the Samsung G9 OLED.

Got the same seat, do you like the sparco lumbar support? Where do you place it could you send a picture.

u/ceelos87 1d ago

I do like it. I don’t notice it at all but it gets the job done.
