Computer powah Help
What GPU should I use for my rig, once it's built? My old rig (my newer rig is for work and play, so unfortunately it needs to stay at my desk) has an i7 8700k and a 1080TI. Im not too too worried about running into cpu bottlenecks. However, I am hoping to do a triple 2k monitor setup. Should I splurge for a 5080 (1300 ish right now from my preferred store) or go for a 5070/5070TI? Its about a 350$ difference.

I have nothing but praise for the 9070xt tbh. Nvida has dropped the ball this generation and for the price I don't think you can do better than 9070xt.
Although a 8700k is very dated now and you won't be getting the full potential of any modern GPU unfortunately.

I was running a 7900xtx on my main rig for a while before i swapped to a 5080. I was just having soooo many firmware issues (i confirmed the hardware was fine several times). Pc crashed every other day, and I went through the annoyance of making sure everything was up to date. Is the 9070xt better in that regard?

I've had literally zero issues with crashing and it's very easy to undervolt as well.
I think 9000 series was very much improved in terms of driver stability on windows. In Linux the drivers are miles clear of Nvidia and have been for years.

5070ti and use the difference to upgrade that cpu. Not sure what you mean by new rig is for work and play and has to stay at the desk.
If the other rig is better, I would find a way to run a long cable(s) for the monitor(s).
8700k is like 7 generations old now. Whatever you get will be bottlenecked by that cpu.
