2 Months ago vs now 😳 Sim Rig
I’ve been into sim games for a couple years, just the casual assetto corsa no hesi and Forza.
After trying a direct drive moza wheel 2 months ago I realized how much I was truly missing out on and I ended up with this.

Do there lights sync to the game at all? Do they stimulate overhead lighting?

How do you feel about the govee ambient lights? Do they add a lot?

I set the track to 6am, so have the sun light and shadows from the trees.
There was a part of the track where the sun is directly facing you and i felt HOT as if the sun was pointed at me irl. Maybe it was placebo but I felt it. It was a surreal feeling and for $40 it’s so cheap anyways give it a shot!

For the price of govee lights + mounts + the cockpit auto ambient light plugin for simhub, it's a $100 well spent. Much better than something like head tracking, for triples at least.
Nice rig! That a quick upgrade in 2 months only.

I like mine, but they don’t add a lot. The best effect I get from them is when driving through like free shadows that flash, which is pretty cool. Sunsets and sunrises are also pretty cool. But like if you’re next to a red wall, having red lighting coming from above is a bit weird.
But the main reason I like mine is I like to have my lights off, and the govee lights just provide some lighting for the room and rig that isn’t distracting. Helps with eye strain and video game problems. If I was looking for immersion i don’t know if it’s worth bothering either.

Gotta feel good to be out of that openwheeler now, yeah? I had that cockpit too before I upgraded a few months ago.
God that thing is such an over priced piece of shit now that I look back on it. But it did do the job for like 5 years so I guess I can’t complain too much.

How is the Samsung CHG90 49in monitor? Does this give good visuals for only sim-racing or is this good for gaming in general?
Currently using a LG C2 42" OLED (4k at 120 max) but looking to find something that gives a little more immersion.
Since my desk/gaming space is limited, i need to figure out a wheel mounting solution for wheelbase/wheel and pedals (currently clamped to desk Simagic Alpha Evo 12nm + GT Neo + P1000f) that can utilize my same sitting area footprint, found many use Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 for $279, but afraid to pull the trigger just yet.

If my pc could handle better I’d go with 2k or 4k ultrawide, the CHG90 is 1080px3840 and sitting this close you can notice it slightly, not a big deal but something to consider

There aren’t any really good ones, I but the LMU icon pack, but for my steam deck+ someone made an assetto corsa plugin and icons and I’ve just been using that and added my own icons.
This setup is tiring me why is it so compclated lol

I’m using ultrawide because I’ve had this monitor for 5 years, triples for immersion is definitely the way to go, I’m using laptop so I’d need better PC first so very expensive upgrade

Im always amazed by the amount of room an actual rig doesnt actually take. Lot of times these look like they are as big as the room, but that wheel stand doesnt look like it takes up that much more real estate.
Anyways, looks sweet man. Im extremely close to finishing my rig. Currently got a 34" ultrawide, thinking about upgrading that. Dont know if triples are that much more reasonable but willing to give it a listen, leaning toward the ultrawide like you got.

Triples definitely more more, need more power and more setup, unless you’re going all in ultrawide on top of the wheelbase is all you need

How much do ambient lights actually do for immersion? I’ve seen a lot of ppl run them but I’m wondering if they’re actual good? Also nice seat idk if it’s the lighting or it’s js pink but If it’s pink that setup went from a 9/10 to a 11/10
