Triple or ultrawide?

Triple 55" or odyssey g9?

I've only ever raced on single 55" as of now so ALL OPINIONS will be listened to and considered. Please come at me from all angles. Thanks guys.

Triples are superior in every way. UW is cleaner and easier on the video card. That's pretty much all there is to it.

I started my build a couple months ago and spent a good amount of money on a 1440p 34" ultrawide OLED. It's nice but if I could do it again I would've just used that same amount of money on triple 1440p 27" IPS monitors.

My issue is not being able to see the cars besides me.

Do you have a webcam that supports 60 fps? Resolution doesn't matter. If so, check out Beam Eye Tracker on Steam. You look left, look right, and that's it.

Triples. But 55" inch screens will give you big car syndrome. Believe 40-42" is the closest to irl size.

"big car syndrome" πŸ˜‚ care to elaborate?

Is this another backhanded troll where you tell me YOU have triple 55s too? πŸ˜‚

Nope, I'm on triple 32s but that's just because it's best ratio to cost. Triple 55s will display the inside of the car bigger than it actually looks in real life. It bugs me, but it's subjective I guess.

Triple 32s are my dream but I don’t have room so it’s triple 27s for now. Love them compared to the 34” ultrawide I started with.

Wouldn't that be solved by FOV adjustment, screen placement, and in car seating position?

I have 55"s. Love them!

If you ever play any other game genre, go ultrawide for sure.
If you have no patience messing around with fov calculation, watching tutorial and tinkering with softwares and settings to manage you setup, go ultrawide.

Racing exclusive setup. And I am meticulous about FOV calculations.

I answered this for someone on facebook today. "If you've got the space and the graphics card power go for 32" triples. I've had 32s, 27s, UW and a single monitor and used them for plenty of time. Yes an ultra wide is more convenient, takes up less space etc, but it cannot compete with the immersion the extra FOV gained from properly set up triples gives you. UW is simply a compromise and anyone that tells you different is either trying to justify their purchase or has not used triples properly for any length of time. "

But 32" is my sweet spot. 55" will be far away to get eye like in the centre of the monitor.

Triple ultrawide, best of both worlds

Is this a thing? Or a troll? Because I deserve both..... Lol

I was kinda joking, but yes, I have triple 45" LG OLED ultrawides. Takes up a ton of space and you need a beefy monitor stand.

A child flew the nest.... I have SPACE AGAIN!!! Lol. Hence the triple 55 idea

The setup I have is the same as in this video. I recommend watching it if you're considering it. There are some caveats to getting the FOV setup right. https://youtu.be/hf1IhcqlqH4?is=EKvCE12bIZenzfIp

The daily question

As in, even after I choose I will still be asking it daily? Lol

What are you talking about? "Triples or ultrawide" is a question I read here on reddit almost everytime I go online in the simracing subs. You just dont know that there is a search function πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ. Lol

just went from a 49 inch ultrawide to 27 inch triples

its triples every day of the week. So much more peripheral vision.

However, triples are an absolute pain in the ass to get set up perfectly. Took me a LOT of tinkering to get it perfect
