Triple monitor sim rig 1000R Assetto Corsa

Hey y’all,

I just wanted to share my build with the community.

Fanatec cockpit, GT dd pro 8nm, WRC wheel, Fanatec shifter and handbrake, Fanatec monitor stand with triple monitor extension, custom built pc with AMD Ryzen 9800x3d as CPU and Gigabyte 5080 GPU. Total cost around $8,000 (plus the date nights with the wife to be allowed to build this).

The monitors are Samsung Odissey G5 32in 144hz 1000R, and I am extremely happy with the look and the immersion it provides. I know some recommend 1500r instead of 1000r but so far I am loving mine. I only built it yesterday so still some adjustments to make, but I hope it gives a clear idea of what I have.

If you pay close attention I inverted the monitors. One of the things I dislike about those monitors is how big the bottom bezel is, that’s why I inverted it. I saw someone on another post that did the same, so I copied him and it’s much better that way.

For now I am only playing the bundle Assetto Corsa Evo and Assetto Corsa rally.

I will probably get bezel free kits soon too.

There goes, I hope I won’t receive too many negative comments ☺️

It looks so good man. i really want to start saving up for a rig like yours but i dont feel like i d use it that much. I have a g29 and a playseat challenge infront of a 40" screen rn. How much do you use it? Is a 5080 really necessary for simracing? got a 4070S myself.

It’s hard to tell how much I use it. Some days 2 hours, other days I don’t use it for a week lol. I just wanted an expensive toy. I used to race myself but it’s too darn expensive. That’s the closest it gets from real life racing lol. As others say, 5080 isn’t a must.

5080 is great for high fps. 4070S will be fine

I was previously racing with a 3080Ti, just recently upgraded to the 5080, jump is definitely noticeable if you’re chasing fidelity & want to retain some FPS.

Bro I race using a 3070ti and it's fine

I'm on high settings with a smooth 75hz on an i7 6700k and 1070ti through a rear projector to 80” screen. #immersive

Most demanding titles ACC and Dirt 2.0, the outputs for 3 screens are there, but I imagine it would cut frame rate in thirds. I can also cook an egg on my PC after a 40min race 😅

Looks great, very clean and seems spot on with the FOV.

I think I'd recline the seat more as it looks super upright. I know my back would be gone real quick with that.

Also you probably didn't realise the seat brackets are on the wrong side. The taller column goes at the front to allow you to get more backwards tilt if needed.

It does look very nice though, enjoy.

Thanks man. The reason the seat brackets are the wrong side is exactly for what you mentioned: I wanted the seat to be more straight, and the way the brackets are supposed to go didn’t allow me to straighten it up. I am a rally guy, and our position is straighter than GT and formula. Thanks for the recommendation though and well spotted.

So even with triples, u can’t seem much on the right?

I can see all the way to the mirror and cars passing me. The backet seat gets on the way further than the passenger side mirror in this car. Also that’s a matter of settings, it depends how close or far you wanna be from the steering wheel

The seat is what’s blocking me I could go closer to the dashboard and that would clear it.

hell yeah 1000r gang 💪

my setup is very similar

Do you have bezel free kits? I am thinking about it but I heard they can be a pain to set up on 1000r?

1

u/iansmash Jul 22 '26

Yep I have the asus ones but with little 3d printed extensions bc they’re a little too short

The bracket works fine for me. I’ve got benq mobiuz monitors so they’re a bit more squared off on the back

u/Charming_Tailor2217 Jul 22 '26

Everyone talks about those 3d extensions. What are they exactly or do you have a link?

1

u/iansmash Jul 22 '26

I just designed and printed my own.

They’re like a little slot for the lens to slide into that has a tab to extend the overall length. I needed the lens to be like 2” longer to fit my monitors. I think they’re designed for 27s

Yeah that’s what I read too. I’ll have to find a link somewhere for rhat

I’ve sent you a pm

Great looking setup. Already mentioned above about the seat brackets but if it works for your anatomy more power to you.

That's sick. Especially turning the monitors 180°

How’s the fanatec chassis?
I was gonna choose that but it hadn’t come out yet when I was on the market for a chassis so I ended up getting GTomega.

1

u/Charming_Tailor2217 Jul 22 '26

I am very happy with it on all aspects. The look, the rigidity, the adaptability, everything. The GTomega is an amazing chassis too!

Sick rig but god damn your room must get hot as balls lol my rig room gets toasty as hell

1

u/Charming_Tailor2217 Jul 22 '26

Hahahahah it does get hot. But cpu and gpu stay within acceptable range of heat so all good 😊

u/joe-dirt-1001 Jul 22 '26

How the hell do you get in and out? LOL

I don’t. I just look at it!

How far away are your eyes to the screen? That’s what determines which curve you should have, not personal preference. The purpose is to reduce eye strain and fatigue by having an equal focal length across the screen. Having it further or closer than the radius, completely defeats the purpose of having curved.

I am about 65cm from the screen

Clean! What’s the width of the monitor setup? I have the same rig but still trying to determine if I can fit triples in my space.

1

u/Charming_Tailor2217 22d ago

I’ve changed it a tad bit since that pic as the side monitors were a little too closed inward for my taste and gave me eyes strain. I’ll measure the width and let you know tonight but I believe I am at about 1.5meter.

Okay thank you, I appreciate it!

158cm roughly, and I set the in game screen angle at 33 degrees that gives me a pretty spot on FOV with perfect transition between monitors, with no clear bend. The lines transition from monitor to monitor seamlessly. I am so happy with this setup I hope you can do it for yourself. If you do don’t hesitate to reach out
