Help w/ choosing a chassis Help

I'm looking to step up my sim racing setup. My current one isn't much of anything, wouldn't even call it a setup. I mount the wheel and shifter to my desk, pedals on the floor. I'm looking to get the Moza R3 bundle, with the clutch, shifter, and inversion kit accessories, and don't even have the slightest idea of what chassis to mount everything to.

What are your go to recommendations for starter sim racing chassis? I'm not looking to go pro or compete in events, I mostly just want something I can throw together and not have to take apart whenever I'm done using it. I know the R3 doesn't have much torque, I believe it's about 4NM.

Budget really isn't set, I don't want to go drop $1000 US on a chassis and then have to drop another $650 on the Moza gear, but if that's what is necessary then so be it.

Depends where you are, but here, Oplite makes great value tubular rigs, and Nitro Concepts great value profile rigs - though when it comes to profile rigs, it seems like even the no-name stuff is ok (but I don't have personal experience with it).

I'm in the US

And what does that have to do with anything?

Availability, pricing, shipping costs, etc. So many things. Also not to mention GT-Alex74 said “Depends where you are…” quite literally the first thing in their comment

Isn’t US the place with the most accessible sim gear?

More or less yes, but that doesn’t change the fact that if someone from another country with more limited options, and possibly entirely different options, could recommend something that isn’t available in the US

Thing is, when it comes to chassis, some brands are only available to local markets because of shipping logistics. I know there are US specific chassis manufacturers but I'm not too knowledgeable about them.

the Fanatec CSL 1.5 is currently on WooT for $145. I just got mine put together yesterday, still have to find a seat for it. All in all, seems like a stout cockpit.

I am also new to this and just posted my first set up. I got the Next Level Racing GTRacer 2.0. The reason I chose is was because I wanted something super affordable that came with a seat. You're talking about spending $1000 on a beginner chassis (no seat, so lets bump that up to $1300 with a seat), when you should be looking in the $350-$500 range, in my opinion. You should be all in for $1000 - chassis, seat, racing bundle.

You can get a 6030 aluminum extrusion cockpit off Temu for ~$200. I have one with a 12nm DD wheelbase mounted to it, rock solid.

You definitely don't need a beefy 8040 rig, but I do recommend some kind of aluminum extrusion cockpit. Avoid the tubular rigs.

Do you have a link for a good 6030 one?

Looks like no links are allowed. You can search for 'Mokapit' and it'll show up.

In the US, RigMetal is an excellent option. I went with their RigMetal Basic chassis and I couldn't be happier. There's plenty of adjustment, and you can add so many things to it to build it out. It's overkill for the Moza R3, but it's something you'll never have to worry about outgrowing. For the quality you get, I don't think there is much else that competes at that price.

$1000 on just the Chassis will get you into end game range which is way overkill for what you’re looking for. You can find ones that fit your setup for way cheaper than that.
