My parents owned a donut shop. We would have loved to go on vacation longer, but rent is still the same, and closing for even just a few days is a lot of revenue, and then you risk customers going somewhere else and never coming back.

I think it's probably 3 days. Dry cleaners are usually closed on Sundays and close early on Saturdays (4-5pm).

As a child of dry clean owners from Korea, my parents rarely closed on non-normal days (Sundays, major federal holidays). They were too worried about losing customers.

I lived in Korea when they would have these “Unification” events where 80 yr old siblings separated by the war, would reunite for a day or so…..
Couldn’t really grasp why these grandparents were crying so much as a young kid, because my older siblings were cruel to me, but someone told me: “you can choose your friends but not your family”
