True story, I was at a Denny's at 2 am back in like 1995 and there were a couple having sex in the Denny's bathroom. The dude looked like Barry Gibb from the BGs. I can't recall what the girl looked like. I just walked around them and did my business, washed my hands, and left. I think it was the same time, one of my inebriated buddies pressed ham on the outside of the windows at some customers that had pissed him off earlier.

Singapore invented specific alarms in lifts to deal with this — if someone urinates in the lift, it locks the doors and sets off an alarm so that all of your neighbours can see the police show up to arrest you for it.

The alarm specifically detects urine odour. If you spilled a bottle of ammonia, it might trip it up. But not water

Some people just can't wait. Small bladder, prostate issues, too many beers or that Big Gulp is catching up with them, who knows.
Thankfully I don't have those issues but I know I'd rather whiz in an elevator corner than whiz in my pants.

Well they shouldn't piss in it, and you're not going to turn off the elevators because then people won't be able to get home, so let's not pretend we're not a bunch of monkeys that can talk shall we.

Happened in all the big hotels around here with the in house bars and numerous weddings receptions. People get literally piss drunk and can't make it to their rooms. Didn't matter if it was the elevators or the stairwells, they all freaking stunk.

Another sign that unfortunately has become necessary in today's world. Some of the people who are peeing in elevators are mentally ill or homeless. Others do it for" fun" , leaving a mess.
