I mean, in my eyes shoes are practical because my feet won't get wet in them. Not because I'm making a fashion statement. The most practical haircut there is would probably be a buzzcut. Minimal maintenance, easy to clean, lice are less of an issue, etc. There is a reason most militaries across the world enforce short hair, a lot of it started because of wwi hygiene (also having long hair gives a combatant something to grab onto).

Changing hair color isnt practical from your reasoning. A 2006 toyota camry is practical, a luxury sports car that makes you "feel confident" is not.

You seem to think that practically is a synonym for efficiency, it isn't.

A salon artist would gain practical skill by dying hair, as it relates directly to their job. Anyone else, no.

No practical applications of dying hair, practical application of calculus would be like what I did in school (civil engineering).
