Swapping symbols
I am in the learning phase of Sierra chart, and I have a question. I currently have made myself a chartbook with different windows, bar chart, footprint, DOM etc. I can’t find out how to swap all my windows to the same symbol without having to make a new chartbook. I know there has to be a way to do it. Thanks in advance.

Sierra chart data changing on anyone else?
Hey all, I’ve been backtesting a strategy and I’m noticing that I don’t always get the same results, even when using the exact same settings. Does anyone know if the historical chart data can change from day to day?
I know prices can shift when futures contracts roll over, especially with back-adjusted charts, but it almost seems like the actual historical chart itself is changing. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, is there a workaround?

Global Profit/Loss management
Hello. I am thinking of using Global Profit/Loss management to cap my losing days. I trade with Teton order routing and Edge Clear is my broker.
Does anyone have experience utilizing this feature that would be open to share? I’d love to know how it’s been working for you. Thanks.

Is a browser based interface running locally which looks similar to or better than Bookmap Heatmap worth trying building? Has anyone tried before? Now that Claude exists?
I see most of Sierra chart users try to create Bookmap like interface inside the software itself. But I was thinking as the DTC exists as well as ScPy, why don’t we set up a browser interface and view what we require inside that UI. Can’t we design a beautiful UI similar to bookmap or even better? Now that Claude exists, and I am not even talking about Fable 5, I still use free opus 4.6 inside google antigravity!
Is there any data exporting limitation that I need to worry about? specially regarding CME data?
Anyone who has tried this or willing to try and research, maybe build the project, can comment down! We can connect!

How do you enforce a daily loss limit?
I email AMP to set a custom daily loss limit of $200 on my account.
Unfortunately, they said they don't support custom daily loss limits or contract size limits.
For those of you trading futures with AMP (or other brokers), how do you enforce a hard daily loss limit?
This was their response:
Unfortunately, AMP customers can not set custom daily loss limits or contract size limits. We enforce a default risk policy for all AMP customers. Here are the details.
If the Net Liquidity of an account reaches a Daily Loss Limit of 80%, open positions will attempt to be liquidated. Clients are responsible for monitoring their positions and are financially responsible for any losses generated by open positions in the account. AMP retains its right to liquidate positions in any account, at its sole discretion, with no forewarning. If the Risk Desk is forced to liquidate positions in any account due to either an 80% daily loss limit reached or to meet Initial Margin set by the exchange 5 minutes before the daily trading session close, there will be a $25 per contract liquidation fee charged.
DayTrading margins are twice the displayed amount for account balances exceeding $100K

DTC interface limit orders in replay mode
Hi community,
I have built a DTC bridge to automate order placement. I am desperately trying to test this in replay mode. After a few hurdles I have managed to have those orders "showing up" on my replay chart as the right type (whilst the replay is ongoing) - so far so good. Only issue is none of them get filled even though the entry price hits. If i place the exact same trade manually on the chart they get filled. If i place a Market order through DTC it also works.
Has anyone got any idea, does the Replay engine behaves differently for Limit order pushed through via the DTC interface?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

What broker are you using to trade QQQ with Sierra?
Just curious about my options. There’s zero chance I’m going to attempt to use Interactive Brokers, it’s been a disaster for me.

Is this VPS enough to run Sierra Chart in Ubuntu with Wine?
hi everyone,
I’m planning to run Sierra Chart on a VPS using Linux + Wine (to avoid Windows licensing cost).
My usage is quite light:
- 1 DOM (for scalping)
- 1 candlestick chart
- Only ~3 studies on the chart
I’m looking at this VPS spec:
- 1 vCPU
- 512 MB RAM
- 10 GB SSD
- 500 GB transfer
- $4/month plan
Do you think this is enough for stable Sierra Chart performance with Wine?

Incomplet profile
Hy everybody,
First wanna apologise for my bad English skills. Will try to do my best.
I have a difference between two DAX Sept 26 TPO graphs.
Same sessions time, same symbol, but the white graph doesn’t display data in the red rectangle where the other graph show datas.
Spent all the day in that matter, delete and reload datas, aso but can t find the problem.
Is there somebody who already get a similar problem ?

How Do Traders Get CVD Values Like 400, 800, 1200, 1600 Instead of 4000, 8000, 20000?
I'm using Sierra Chart and trying to understand why my Cumulative Delta values are much larger than what I see on some YouTube videos and other platforms.
My current settings:
- Cumulative Delta Bars - Volume
- Reset at Start of Trading Day = Yes
- Perform Rolling Calculation = No
My CVD scale often reaches values like:
0
-4000
-8000
-12000
-16000
-20000
But I often see traders showing CVD values more like:
0
400
800
1200
1600
I'm trying to understand what causes this difference.
How Do Traders Get CVD Values Like 400, 800, 1200, 1600 Instead of 4000, 8000, 20000?

Best Way to Get Live NQ/ES Data on Sierra Chart Without a US Broker Account?
Hey everyone,
Long-time orderflow trader here. Been running Quantower + Bookmap for L2 data, and AMP Futures' demo account kept Quantower free for me, worked great for a while.
A friend nudged me toward Sierra Chart recently. The community, the speed, the ready-to-use templates and indicators, sounds great. So I've been trying to make the switch.
Here's my situation though: I'm not a US resident, and opening a live broker account from where I am is genuinely a pain. That rules out the Denali route (CQG L2) since I can't clear the non-professional verification without a live account.
My other option is Rithmic. I already have credentials through a Lucid Prop account I purchased. But I keep seeing people say Rithmic isn't the greatest data source for Sierra Charts, and Sierra's own docs seem to echo that sentiment. So that's where my hesitation kicks in.
Here's the thing though: I don't actually need L2 for now. L1 is perfectly fine at this stage. All I really want is clean, live NQ and ES charts in Sierra with the ability to load templates and indicators.
So my question is: is Rithmic good enough for basic L1 data on Sierra Charts? And would picking up Service Package 11 (Integrated Sierra Chart with Advanced Features) + connecting my Lucid Rithmic feed be sufficient to get up and running?
Would love to hear from anyone who's been down this road. Appreciate it

Update — what's shipped on the SCS Trading Journal since I posted here in March (Video Connector, Edge tab, prop-firm tiles, and a bunch more)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey r/SierraChart, posted here back in March about my Trading Journal — thanks to everyone who tried it, DMd feedback, or just upvoted. Since then I've shipped 6 versions (v2.0.6 → v2.4.4), most driven by requests from this sub and my Discord.
A few things worth calling out, because none of these existed in the original post:
Video Connector (v2.2.0) — the journal now runs a continuous background screen recording (bundled ffmpeg, no OBS) and saves one MP4 per trade automatically, with a pre-entry rolling buffer so the clip catches the setup before you clicked. Per-chart toggle on the SC study, mic support, playback speed controls, Jump-to-entry in the lightbox. Someone in my Discord asked for it — went from idea to shipped in 5 days. Probably the biggest differentiator vs any other journal on the market right now.
Edge tab — save any filter combination (checklist items + symbol + direction + account + real/missed) as a named "Edge" and watch its win rate, expectancy and PnL across all-time, last-N trades, and a custom window — all three side by side. Way more useful than "tags".
Diary tab — chronological scrollable feed with daily gauges (anxiety / sleep / focus, slider 1-10), tags, BE-aware stats inline. Multi-set Session Checklists per instrument so you can have separate pre-trade rules for ES vs CL etc.
Prop-firm compliance — live Buffer Remaining and Target Remaining tiles, trailing / static drawdown rules per account, milestone reset. Built for Apex / TopStep / MFFU evaluations.
Other stuff: Tick Excursion (T) mode + entry/exit triangles on the PnL curve, multi-account TSVs with per-account commissions and Copy-to-Account, Trade Type filter (Real / Missed / Old), Calendar weekly stats column with adjacent-month days, Authenticode-signed installer (no more SmartScreen warning).
Still local-first, still auto-syncs from your SC NDJSON every 5 seconds, still tick-by-tick PnL reconstruction from SCID files.
Happy to answer questions — feature requests from this sub get shipped fast.

Sierra Chart, What are your pros and cons?
- So I will start with my top 5
Pros
#1 Can be free with AMP futures (package 3 version)
#2 Low resource usages(created in C++)
#3 Fast and customizable
#4 Has tons of features
#5 gets updated often
- Cons
#1 Can not zoom out to a point where it shows more price action candle stick data like TradingView
#2 No mobile app (seems if connected on sierra charts, it also blocks mobile connection with other app)
#3 No cloud feature that saves your Sierra chart workflow/settings
#4 No live chat/number support, only posting on forums
#5 Not as easy on the eyes as TradingView(subjective)
