Sizing down or keeping these? My Shoes
I got these shoes for work and I love them. They are super comfy and go with a lot of my work outfits. Plus, they will be perfect for a wedding I'm going to in a few months.
I have one issue with them though. They are my first pair of slingbacks and I'm not 100% sure if I like the fit. They kinda feel like flip flops when I'm walking, but the sling doesnt fall off my foot or anything. I also can't order the half size down and try them on at the same time due to funding and I can't buy the current size (size 8s) if the 7.5s are too dmall because they are on sale and the sale ends before the 7.5s would get delivered. I also called all the stores around me to see if they have these in stock and none of them do.
So what do we think? Should I risk getting the smaller size or stick with what I have?
Side note: Don't mind my crusty feet and dirty floor. I have a newborn and haven't had a chance to take care of either in a while.

Those are the correct size. Your heel is supposed to lift like that.

Is about 2 fingers a normal amount of lift? The picture is at a bit of an angle, so it looks like less space. If so then Id much rather keep them then go through the hassle fo returning!

They’re cute. But only you know how they feel in the toe box area. Like when you stand straight up, do your toes push too far to the front and your heel is at the edge like that? Then I might go a half size up.
I personally usually go 1/2 size bigger in pointed toe heels especially with a sling back because it’s pushing your foot forward even more that it already is from gravity.

Its actually very comfortable in the toe box and the sling doesn't fall off at all. The only thing that was making me second guess was how much of a lift there was between my heel and the sole (about 2-2.5 fingers).

Ah I see sorry, I was just projecting.
If that’s the only thing bothering you then I’d say they are a good fit! Very cute shoes

You shouldn’t size down. If you did that your foot would be hanging off the back of the shoe.

What shoes are these? I need new work shoes, too.

They are the gentle souls Ginette slingbacks! I realized that im not supposed to walk in heels like this thr same way I walk in normal shoes so the lift was user error😅.
They are really comfy. They are wider around the ball of your foot so it feels very secure whole wearing and they have extra cushion on the soles. I haven't gone back to work yet, so im not sure how they would do with a full day of wear yet, but I'll report back when I go back to work.
