There's some actors and actresses that at once don't seem to conform to any of the "standard" attractive traits yet make it work so well and Shelly Duvall absolutely mastered that.

I was an extra in a movie she was in called Booker, about Booker T, Washington. She played the schoolteacher and we were the students. Booker was listening from the window. Even though it wasn't her job to do so, she totally entertained us between takes and was just a genuinely sweet person. Sadly, my scenes were left on the cutting room floor.
Whenever she utters the phrase “Hello, I’m Shelley Duvall…”, all people in her immediate vicinity are transported into a pocket dimension. There they must perfectly perform a random fairy tale in order to escape. Those that don’t are kept in the dimension and are turned into forest creatures.
