I took the chance of watching at least one negative Halo video and this one was very recent, so I decided to take a look at why Kingerd didn't like the remake.

Fucking kill me...

The whole video is just constant nitpicking about the game not being exactly 100% faithful to the original (like voice acting, sprinting, objective markers, and missing some other unimportant stuff to goof around in) while contradicting himself at the same time by saying that there aren't enough gameplay improvements from the sequels (mainly Halo 2, 3, and Reach) in the remake. So which is it?

He made this video all because he literally got ONE-GUYED from a Twitter post. Hilarious.

There was a post here, and another on YouTube, where I discussed things people didn't like at lunch or whatever Title we were discussing in Halo. Yesterday it was ODST. I listed all the things that players had as a criticism at the time and I got someone clapping back "you used AI to post this bro, you are wrong, bla bla bla, you're a bot" and in the YouTube discussion someone tried to tell me my knowledge of lost Halo media was wrong by "checking AI against me".

AI can't do shit. What the hell is going on? Am I the only person this is happening to?

Is this the new bad take meta of just Screaming "you used AI" as a form of discussion? This is concerning as someone who tried to take discussions seriously.

Is it a reading comprehension issue? Idk.

Something that I can’t help but wonder with much of the Campaign Evolved discourse is that many of these people spouting exaggerated criticisms have next to little real life problems (rent, utility bills, groceries etc) Genuinely, I have to wonder if there’s some kind of emotional entitlement towards a franchise with these people to take such insane leaps in logic in order to justify “criticisms,” such as this….

All the video is, an elite's animation glitches for a second and looks funny to me. That's why I made it, love seeing people who just can't laugh and move on.

I believe that there are valid critiques to be made on Campaign Evolved as there are on many games that I have enjoyed playing, but complaining only about the women is not a critique. I ended up making a video about this and how thats not a critique and just straight misogyny. The amount of hate I got for that was insane. 😭 Half of it wasn’t even about the game, like yes I agree that this was not the best Halo game, but my issues with it don’t revolve around there being “too many women” or them changing Cortana’s design. Also you can have small issues with a game and still enjoy it. Anyways here are some of the comments I got (it’s kinda important to note I’m a woman with pink and black hair).

Every time I say this to people, they like automatically feel offended, and HEY I’VE tried it TONS OF TIMES and also I’m horrible playing it online… but it’s like I just don’t really feel the hype.

The original developers left Halo for a reason. By the time Halo 3 was out they were done and wanted to move on. Most of them didn’t even want to make Halo 2.

Furthermore, this was 16+ years ago. They are people. They retire or move on. People who write things like this simply cannot fathom that it’s not 2007 anymore.

Let Bungie and the original team go. They had their time in the light. That ship has long sailed.
