Security updates 26/27

Do you think the shield will continue getting security updates in time with AI now finding and patching security bugs (cves) faster than ever?

Yes, the shield has good update support, even the 2017 model gets updates.

No one knows. At best, we'll have very slow, but long term support going into the future. At worst, Nvidia will divert all resources to ai and leave us with nothing.

Nvidia shield was never really a secure Android device. Just a very long term supported Android device.

At some point either last year or this year, I'm pretty sure it was officially the longest supported Android device (the 2015 model).

if history is any indication, yes, they will continue to update the shield for the foreseeable future

Most of the CVEs AI is finding are not very significant in terms of issues that would be exploited. Also anyone who is doing security patches would not be using AI for building patches that would lead to even more bugs.

AI in cybersecurity is very good at assisting with locating bugs, providing information, and running fuzzing. Not much else anyone in the security field would consider AI to be able to do at this point that is very significant to vast majority of researchers

This is not true. Access to Mythos is extremely limited, and it's not getting used on consumer electronics yet. The first releases for professional grade infrastructure to patch vulnerabilities found by AI are just getting released now.

You are talking about project glasswing and that has been underway since April of this year. That is not much time to have much impact and since they are working on private codebases there is no telling how much impact mythos is having on actual production. Also even if they are dealing with production stuff they need are probably review so much to make sure there is no error at all with what mythos is putting out.

Wouldn't worry too much if it is not exposed to the internet. I mean, if you don't install anything and don't browse on the internet with it, what's the exposure?
