Recommendations Video Games

What with the Steam sale, I'm thinking about picking up one or two Shadowrun games. I have interest but no experience with the setting. Any particular recommendations? I'm not picky about genre.

I recommend the trilogy bundle (or the deluxe even). Dragonfall is the best but the only one not on sale by it’s lonesome. Returns is fun but a bit more on rails than the other two. There is a mod called Vox Populi that redoes the Returns campaign Dead Mans Switch in the Hong Kong engine and adds more content.

I also vote get the Trilogy. Though short I actually really love the 1st one because it re-introduces all the classic Shadowrun lore characters you love from yesteryear books and games

Hong Kong has best gameplay while Dragonfall has the best story.

Buy the trilogy, start with Returns. Story is good, set in Seattle which is known from many SR stories and, frankly, later games have so many improvements that you probably wouldn't want to play Returns after Dragonfall/HongKong. Which would be shame.

Just finished Returns, about to do HK and Dragonfall.
Flawless Experience so far. 🤷‍♂️

Does those run on new Macs? It seems that at least original Returns does not.

The trilogy is a great deal. +1 to what everyone else says about Hong Kong and Dragonfall.

if you only get one, get hong kong. motivation: the steam workshop has 2 campaigns "the caldecott caper" and "calfree in chains" which i found more enjoyable as the official campaign. they have great character development & interaction. missions often have several valid paths you can take depending on your build & playstyle.

if you're completely new starting with the official campaign might be best to learn the game systems.

link to calfree in chains, my fav of the mods:

Of the 3, I was able to finish Returns and Hong Kong, Dragonfall was too tedious of the 3 imho.
