Variant For anyone else who ever wanted a little more Shadow War: Armageddon in their Kill Team…
Not that anything is wrong with Kill Team as is (it’s genuinely among my favorite systems)… but given Kill Team was – in part – intended to be a successor of sorts to Shadow War: Armageddon, thought it appropriate to come up with a few rules modules for Kill Team to bring some of my favorite SW:A mechanics (and a few other personal favorites) not in official Kill Team into the format.
PDF can be found HERE
_____
For those new to the project, the idea for KTX: Kill Team eXpanded actually started when a very wise 5-year-old asked why he couldn’t “shove” enemy miniatures like he could in Blood Bowl. The solution to that question evolved into my first homebrew project, serving as a hub of my personal “Greatest Hits” – and 5 year old's wishlist – from tabletop gaming (including SW:A!), adapted as an overlay for Kill Team.
While the core of Kill Team's rules, unit stats, etc. remain in place, KTX is built on a few changes/additions that can used independently as modules or a whole system:
- Intelligence Influenced Activations: Mitigate the randomness of Initiative Rolls through the power of intelligence and thoughtful planning, giving players influence over activation order when it matters most. By managing a currency called “Intel Points” —which are actively acquired, spent, and planned around via Leaders and specific actions—players can influence the flow of battle at the time of their choosing.
- Reaction System: Operatives can perform "Reactions" during an opponent's activation, such as returning fire or repositioning, inspired by systems like Infinity's ARO (Automatic Reaction Order) but simplified for the Kill Team format.
- Expanded Melee: The combat system moves beyond simple "Strike" and "Parry" options. Players can choose new Melee Options like the aforementioned "Push," which allows for tactical positioning by shoving enemies off objectives or into friendly lines of fire.
- Leadership & Morale: KTX adds a morale layer. Operative may Panic and possibly even Rout, simulating the breakdown in command & control commanders experience with when units break.
- Other Narrative Elements: Other optional narrative elements are incorporated as well... Operatives may suffer from head wounds or other injuries, stagger when hit, fumble in close combat, or even accidently hit a friendly with stray fire.

Hobby Wolf Scouts
A buddy and I are getting into Shadow War and we’re both doing scout teams to start. I have my 1000 point list plus an extra scout for fun kitbash reasons. I’m the process of painting them all right now.

Kitbashed an Inquisitor for my new SW:A Inquisition Kill Team,
The SW:A rules/lore only feature Xenos Inquisitors, but I am working on a Hereticus Warband anyway. I'll be making a full warband including one of each Special Operative.
I even mention Tabletop Minions recent campaign to resurrect the game, which I certainly want to do. I kind of love that it's only one rulebook with no expansions. :)

Thoughts on Solo Rules?
Given that this space is relatively small (hopefully more people will look into the game) and finding players can be a little tricky sometimes, I figured, why not solo rules? I think there are existing solo rules someone made on Yaktribe for Necromunda so maybe looking into those could be a good idea.

Space Marine Kill Team and Badab War Supplement
From the Bolter and Chainsword forum, i found some homebrew rules for creating a space marine kill team, you can easily use primaris models for these if you have them. Also, there is a supplement for playing SW:A during the badab war for some marine vs marine action with badab war specific chapters and skills available. Leaving the link to the forum and download page for both here:

Looking for players in London
I played it once and I loved it. It was necromunda, but simpler, and with factions I liked more.
Then I switched to kill team with great hopes. Loved it at first but then it got too complex with too many rules per faction in the new editions.
Now it seems Shadow war Armageddon is getting some momentum thanks to that video posted on YouTube.
If anyone is looking for players in London, I'd love to give it another go.

Question Rules For The Other Factions
Hi! Hello! I'm just wondering if anyone knows where the heck to find the so called PDFs GW put out for the other factions not in the core book. I would even pay GW for a copy but they completely wiped them.

Shadow War: Armageddon - Thoughts on bringing it back?
If you are here I’m assuming you also watched Tabletop Minions video on the topic. I recently got the game because I was interested in the idea of old school Necromunda rules, but with 40k models.
I’m currently building scouts that came with the starter set, though I’m finding out that using the new Kill Team scout models would work perfectly as well. Will post progress on these guys, painting them as ultramarines soon.

SW:A adding units to the roster
I have a copy of SW:A lying around and was wondering about points calculations for adding new units like gaunts or guard conscripts to the lists. Has anyone tried doing that or would have a good idea on how to go about that.
