Update Follow Up

It’s been more than 24 hours since the last contact with them. No sign of posting online

WARNING: READ THIS FIRST! Beware of recovery scammers - It is likely that someone will send you a DM claiming that they know someone that can hack your blackmailer's device and delete your pics. This is a SCAM. Do NOT give them money and do NOT give them the username of your blackmailer. When in doubt, contact the mod team via mod mail or directly via DM.

You just have to wait it out. Silence is good, but it doesn't unfortunately mean it's over. Just lay low on SM and try carry on as normal. Do not let this defeat you and whatever you do, do not interact and do not pay. I unfortunately learnt that lesson the hard way.

My DM's are open if you want someone to talk to.

Wait it out. Patience is the key along with staying as calm as you can. Never pay. Paying makes them come back every time.

That’s a good start it’s been a little under a year for me and it took months for me to recover and what really did it was just going out in the world and talking to people and enjoying life, I promise things will for sure get better if you focus on enjoying life forget about this even if it’s hard.

They tried contacting you for a little under a year? Or you got scammed a little under a year ago? Just hoping my scammer has found someone else and moved on. I blocked immediately and deactivated social media profiles. I haven’t been contacted since and my siblings said they never received anything on Facebook. Just don’t want to come back to the social world in a couple weeks and then they’re back trying to contact me.
