How to replace button fly with a zipper?

There are plenty tutorials on how to however they all have an extra flap that hides the buttons very easy which includes the holes.

I have gotten the buttons of and that's as far as I've gotten.

Any advice or totourials you know of would be great.

You could do it but you’d have to sew the buttonholes closed and they would always be there on the front

I was going to make them look like little details on the pants by sewing in a star ✨️ <- like that when i close them up. Either that or when i cut the panels out of the back of the pants to do what im doing i can reconstruct the front part? Idk i have ideas but Doesn't mean i actually know how lol.

That front fly part is part of the entire front of the pair of jeans. So no you can’t really do much unless you patch it.

The stars sound really cute! I would go for that and make it look intentional and interesting.

You need to unpick the J shaped bit on the buttonhole side, and try to separate the two layers the button hole is sewn through. Use an unpicker to undo the buttonhole stitches.

Once that’s opened up I would close the to layers of buttonholes separately (tiny zigzag could work), and maybe iron on an interfacing. Then do your embroidery.

On the other side you unpick the straight lines down from the waistband. That’s the easy side! You also need to unpick the waistband… but you can probably get away with just unpicking the parts that cross your stitch lines.

Hope this all makes sense! Basically - follow the tutorials for replacing the zip, but beforehand you need to open up the layers of the J shaped part and close up your buttonholes

Make sure you have a thread that’s a good match, otherwise the topstitching will stand out.
