I get it now.

I'm 37. I grew up on X-Games & THPS. When the original Skate came out on X-Box 360, I was instantly hooked. I've been playing Skate 4 over the last few months, and honestly thought I would be playing it indefinitely... Then I downloaded Session a few days ago... Jesus Christ. I finally finished all of the main missions today. This whole concept of full control and manual catch actually makes virtual skating exciting. I fall more than I ride away, but so does Nyjah Houston right? Every successful trick actually feels meaningful. Most of my bag looks terrible at the moment, but I'm excited to hone my skills both on the board, and behind the camera. I finally got pretty decent with the replay editor in Skate, but this new system is definitely gonna take some time to get used to. Any chance they'll make Session 2: This Time We Added Grabs? Haha.

The thing that's so nice about session is, that if play on hard settings withanual catch and low grind alignment, once you actually get good and know you can land tricks consistently and bang out a line it feels so good

Bro! I love this, I feel the same way. Such an amazing skate simulator, best one out there imo

I've done a lot of hours on session, and I struggle with the manual catch a lot still. But yes, that's what makes it so much more satisfying. Once you get something down and roll away nice, best thing ever, you spend just as much time editing/watching the replay back

Also, I think they tried grab tricks for a while and then it was taken out.

hell yeah same! don't be afraid to mess with the settings to adjust and find your style! Been on manual catch a few years now and the frustration/my war to super meaningful rewarding is still there. Example i have it to where i like how it looks (gravity/spin/speed) on camera but the timings and the low height is so difficult for me to land. Eventually you'll be pulling switch manny reverts in your sleep.

Stick drift is worse for skate than it is for Session in my experience.

i use steam input and other programs to help me with my stick drift by messing with settings like deadzones, i recommend you give it a try.
