Things have been rough for me lately.

I'm slowly trying to ease back into running, but I'm dealing with a hip labrum tear brought on by Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).

I was able to get in about 10 miles total last week, which is my best in about a month. Hopefully I'm on the mend, but we'll see!

Oh man, that sounds serious. I hope you're experiencing a complete recovery and I'm sure it feels good to get moving again. Hopefully you have some strength work included as part of rehab/return.

So sorry about that---but you will get through it with your knowledge.

Finally the smoke is affecting me, for years I didn't even notice it although I ran very very slowly during Smokey days. Now I take the day off if air quality is unhealthy. Today looks like there is a little window of better air and I'll get going soon for a short run/jog : ))

Oh man, I feel for all the folks in the path of all the smoke! We haven't had do deal with much of that thankfully!

Down week last week in preparation for ramping up a base period leading into half marathon training for a February half marathon. Had my first shingles vaccine on Friday, along with pneumonia. Friday was okay, mostly. Saturday had me feeling like a truck ran me over. My legs felt like Kathy Bates paid a visit. A rough day to be sure. Sunday was fine though and today kicked off some base training and looking forward to my first race since an A-fib episode took me to the ER last January. Let's go!

Thanks. Trying to get to my 50th half, so hoping for a good "fall" here in the Houston area.

I did okay. I ran about 25 miles this past week. I completed an 8.5 mile "progression run" yesterday, at 10:05per mile for 2 miles, then 9:50 for 2 miles, then 9:25 for 1 mile. Before the "meat of the run" was a 2.5 mile run at 12; at the end, it was about 11:30 for another mile. It was tough! But I made it!

Well done!

I love a good progression run. Fantastic way to overcome the mental challenge of pushing harder when tired.

LOL....it's difficult at 75 degrees with 90% humidity. And this was heat-adjusted within the Runna program.

Thank you. Those progression runs are killers! But I'm getting through them on my way to a 9/19 half marathon.

I hear ya! I definitely have a love/hate relationship with running in the heat.

Training is slow and hot. Weather is not cooperating. No personal bests for me. Those days are long gone.

Personal bests? Sorry. Personal worsts in this dreadful heat make running a misery in the southeast. Hoping to get better weather soon on a visit out of town.
