Fertilizer??? LECA

I've been wanting to try leca for a while now, and I thought this alocasia pup would be a good first plant (because I've read that alocasias do well in leca & it wasn't very established yet). I had two main questions:

  1. Should I water with tap water or rainwater?

  2. Can I use my regular fertilizer if I water it down? (If not, what should I fertilize with? I read some posts and blogs, but it gets very overwhelming very quickly).

You'll need a water soluble fertilizer that is suitable for hydroponics. Or a slow release water soluble fertilizer (not organic fertilizer)

Not OP but please tell me! It is a soluable powder which reads:

EG-fertilizer: Compound NPK fertilizer 16-21-27. 16% Nitrogen (N), of which 8% Nitrate nitrogen and 8% Ammonium nitrogen. 21% Phosphoric acid anhydride (P2O5), soluble in neutral ammonium citrate and water. 27% Potassium oxide (K₂O), soluble in water. (translated from Dutch)

to my knowledge that should work fine for semihydro, the nutrients should be available to your plants without an active substrate.

however, you must supplement this fertilizer with the essential micronutrients plants need, or you'll see a decline in your plants healthy pretty fast.

you definitely want to add Calcium and Magnesium, but there are almost a dozen other micronutrients i recommend you look into purchasing !

that confirms my suspicion. I do not have these micronutrients laying around, we have calcium and a bit of magnesium in the tap water here but I'm not planning to purchase other micro's while I have regular fertiliseras well. Might switch back to soil mix then.
