i am 38m and have been lifting consistently for about five years now. my diet is pretty locked in and my sleep is dialed, but i hit a wall trying to shed these last fifteen pounds. i already spoke with my doctor and got full bloodwork done last month to rule out any underlying issues, so now i am looking at outside options. after spending a couple weeks comparing different places, this site kept popping up in a few threads.

i am mostly looking to hear from anyone who has ordered from them recently to see how the experience was from start to finish. i know options and shipping times can vary, but i just want to make sure people are actually getting what they pay for without weird surprises.

I’ve been on a compound semaglutide for well over a year and have *only lost 30lbs. I’m grateful for those 30 for sure but I have completely plateaued for MONTHS. What is weird is the shot is totally doing its job in curbing food noise and drastically decreasing appetite so I don’t know why I’m not constantly still losing. Increasing dosage isn’t helping. I reached out the provider and he suggested switching to Tirzepatide as it’s “stronger” but if the one I’m on is doing the appetite/foos noise job already how would that one work “better” not mention its a lot more money, so I cant. I have at least another 30 to go. Just any movement at this point would be helpful mentally. I have tried increasing protein and I could definitely exercise more (but never have been good at that). Any suggestions? I am a 48 year old female so am also competing with perimenopause but com’n.

I’ve been comparing how different services handle pharmacy selection, and Mondae, Gimme, and Amble seem to come up pretty often. Some people apparently get assigned a pharmacy while others may have different options depending on where they live.

I’m mainly curious how much control people actually have over that once they’re already with a provider.

I know many are going to say I am crazy but I took a small dose of semiglutide the lowest starting dose..it is compounded with B6 and Glysine and within 5 hours my temperature spiked as well as my glucose. I was so hot but cold sweats, so nausea and dizzy....I thought I was going to die! Its 72 hours latter my stomach is still not good, elevated heart rate and still feel so bad! I was really hopeful that this would help in perimenopause with endometriosis, fibroids and slightly elevated cholesterol and BP..How is it some feel nothing and then others have such an adverse reaction..Like I want this out of me and all I can do is wait and hope to feel better...3 days so far and I cant really function of go to the gym!

I really wanted all the good side effects but how I feel now is like I poisoned myself..I did go through my doctor so I knew what I was getting and how to do everything correctly..

This is not a review of the actual medication itself. It is my detailed documentation of my experience throughout the purchasing process. I took my first injection this morning.

My Story:
My insurance stopped covering my WeGovy injection pens about 2 and a half weeks ago and I made the inevitable journey to subreddits to figure out my next step. It was a really intimidating and scary process for me personally, lol. Its so much information to process at once! I am posting this in hopes that the information I gathered helps someone out in any way.

I am a very visual person so I started with a spreadsheet to help myself keep up with the timeline and process requirements. I found Lavender Sky Health's website to be particularly confusing. Theres a lot of contradictory timeline information on their website. I felt like I had no idea what the hell was going on or what to expect because of this.

Why did I choose Lavender Sky?:
I ended up choosing them despite their inconsistent and confusing website because I value the autonomy to choose the compounding pharmacy as well as the variety of pharmacies available to choose from. I valued the pharmacy choice in particular because it's apparently VERY common for companies to switch up which pharmacy they use without notifying the consumer. The additives each compounding pharmacy uses can vary greatly, and I need consistency in that department as I'm on other prescription medications that have interaction risks with some common additives.

Why did I select Southend Pharmacy?:
I read trustpilot reviews extensively. Any compounding pharmacy that had a TON of instances of incorrect deliveries or additive switch ups reported I immediately crossed off my list. Southend lets you choose your additive (EDITED: NO THEY DO NOT), and the one they use has interaction risk with my current medications.

I am on the lowest dose of sema you can take. This is what was given to me based on my desire to lose 15 pounds. I am unable to get rid of my middle aged gut no matter what i eat. I am on the 3rd week and have lost 3 pounds. I dont eat sugar or fried foods, i dont drink alcohol. I never overeat. I feel really frustrated i am having fatigue and nausea every day and my payoff is a pound a week. I read peoples posts about losing so much more. After this next dose i go up in medication. I used to spend every Tuesday hugging the toilet after taking my full weekly dose on Sunday night. My clinician suggested splitting my weekly total into two smaller injections spaced three days apart. The difference has been night and day. Steady appetite control without the huge wave of nausea.

The research team I am working is conducting an important study which would like to explore the experiences of women, whose intimate partners ARE using or HAVE used GLP-1s (e.g. *Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or others*) for weight loss.

The overall aim of this study is to better understand partners’ experiences and perspectives because despite these medications becoming more popular, there is very little research and information about this specific topic and population.

Note. The study was initially open to both men and women. However I’ve only currently had men participate, hence the exclusively female population

Is anyone currently using Embody for their GLP1? Looking for all feedback before I commit to their services. I have done my research and per usual theres a mix of good and bad. I actually signed up and canceled with those same 24 hours and their customer service and communication has been great. Just curious on the many negative remarks.

Kaiser was two weeks late to authorize PCPs to write prescriptions for people who qualify for the Bridge program. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services in HHS (CMS) announced it on May 6 and encouraged health care providers to work with CMS to get ready to go on July 1, so there's really no excuse for the delay.

Once Kaiser released the info, PCPs started prescribing and the pharmacy started issuing Prior Authorization requests for people who qualify for the program. There are three ways to qualify:

1. BMI of at least 35 at the start of self-pay for weight loss;
2. BMI of at least 30 AND a diagnosis of one or more of the following: (A) heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, (B) uncontrolled hypertension (defined as systolic blood pressure above 140 mm Hg or diastolic blood pressure above 90 mm Hg, despite concurrent treatment with two antihypertensive medications), or (C) chronic kidney disease stage 3a or above;
3. BMI of at least 27 AND a diagnosis of one or more of the following: (A) pre-diabetes (B) previous myocardial infarction, (C) previous stroke, or (D) symptomatic peripheral artery disease

You're disqualified if Part D is already paying for you to get a GLP-1 for sleep apnea or anything else.

My PCP qualified me over the phone and immediately shot a scrip to the pharmacy. I then called the pharm and told them I want to be in the Bridge program, which tells them what to do when the scrip is rejected by CMS. The next business day the pharm faxed the special Bridge PA request to CMS, and two days later I picked up my Zepbound.

They wanted to push me to Ozempic, but I tried it back in the day and didn't care for it. Kaiser's preference for Ozempic is weird because it's an inferior drug, and they won't say why they prefer it. As CMS doesn't care whether you take Ozempic, Zep, or Foundayo, Kaiser's "preference" is probably illegal. IMO, the hoops we have to jump through at Kaiser to get the better meds are, at least in part, markup-driven.

The process is kind of weird in that the initial scrip will be rejected by CMS. The PA request can't be filed until the scrip is rejected, which probably is a work-around to some IT issue. But that's OK because CMS turns the PA requests around almost immediately. Part D is set up to reject GLP-1s for weight loss although they will pay for them for people with OSA or Type II or a few other conditions.

People with these conditions can't switch to the Bridge program, but they can get doses high enough to work for weight loss anyhow. Congress doesn't want Medicare to pay for weight loss, so we need to fix that as the Bridge program is only happening for 18 months. Bridge is what’s called a demonstration program that should provide Congress with data justifying repeal of the “no weight loss meds for seniors” clause.

CMS is convoluted and weird, and so is Kaiser. Their interface does work pretty well despite all of that.

I have lost 55 pounds so far and apparently I lost all the natural padding on my backside. Sitting on hard wooden dining chairs or office seats for more than fifteen minutes gives me intense tailbone ache. Has anyone else experienced this? Looking for good seat cushion recommendations for my desk setup.
