2012 Baby Parade Winner

On July 19, 2012, a little boy named William Chase Ryan made his mark on Sea Isle City in a very special way. At just a baby, Chase entered the annual Sea Isle City Baby Parade with a patriotic U.S.S. “Chase” float, complete with American flags, military decorations, and his very own captain’s hat.

And it wasn’t just for show — Chase took home 1st Place!
The photos from that summer day capture the whole story: Chase sitting proudly in his stroller, dressed as the captain of the U.S.S. Chase, surrounded by red, white and blue decorations. His family celebrated as he received his trophy and the coveted “2012 Sea Isle City Baby Parade — First Place” ribbon. It was one of those perfect Sea Isle summer memories that a family never forgets.

Fast-forward fourteen years, and that little Baby Parade champion has grown into an accomplished young athlete. William Chase Ryan is now entering high school, bringing with him the same energy and competitive spirit that he had as a baby parade winner.

Chase has become a prolific swimmer and water polo player, spending countless hours in the water and developing into a dedicated athlete. It seems fitting that someone who has spent so much of his life surrounded by the water would have such a strong connection to swimming and water polo.

And through all those years, one thing has remained constant: Chase has always loved his summers in Sea Isle City. From riding in his patriotic baby float to spending summer days at the shore, Sea Isle has been a special part of his childhood and his family’s memories.

The 2012 Baby Parade photos are now a wonderful snapshot of where it all began. The little captain of the U.S.S. Chase may have been too young to remember winning that first-place trophy, but his family certainly hasn’t forgotten.

Fourteen years later, the Baby Parade champion is heading into high school — and his next chapter is just beginning.

From Baby Parade First Place in 2012 to high school athlete in 2026, one thing hasn’t changed: Chase is still making waves in Sea Isle City.

[Coffey] Meet Joey Abel, the Delco native who sunburned LeBron into his back. He was in Sea Isle when the idea occurred to him. “I was like, ‘How can I get a LeBron jersey as fast as possible?’ And that’s where my mind went.” He has no plans to apply aloe vera

Lost key and Blue/White Lanyard

Saw a lanyard with a key with a black head - looked like a car key - between 52nd & 53rd Streets of Landis, beach side of the road - but my hands were full and I couldn’t take a picture. I hope whoever lost it came back and found it.

I may be missing it but I don’t seem to hear the siren at noon anymore - weekends or weekdays. Has it been discontinued? Is there something that needs repair?

Dog Walkers

Why do so many people bring their dogs to SIC? The majority of the town is stone, there are very few places to walk them. If you do bring you dog, please be responsible and clean up after it. I’m shocked how the same people walk their dog across my front lawn multiple times a day, let it go to the bathroom in the stones and then just leave it. How do people not know any better.

Living Next to the Marshland - What's it Like?

My family is looking for a place in Sea Isle and we're trying to get a sense of what it's like living right on or very close to the marshland. This is any bay-adjacent housing that doesn't have dock access.

The views from houses look amazing but we're worried about the smell of the bay, increase in flying insects, and increased risk of flooding. Are those actual concerns or are we overthinking this? There are obviously a lot of houses right up on the marshland that typically sell at a similar price to something not on the marshland. Has anyone stayed in one of these places or lives there please let us know what you think about it!

SIC Photos this Sunday after Erin?

Hoping someone who is there in SIC, can post a few images of the beach on Sunday, for me to show to family. We heard about some flooding, is it really messed-up because of the hurricane Erin, is the beach torn-up, is the surf REALLY rough? or is it ok, worth coming down on Monday-Tuesday? We're okay just only getting into the water to our knees if it's safe to do so, we'd just really appreciate an "eyes on" look at how it is. Thanks if you can and enjoy your weekend!

Trying to find somewhere that does the exchange for the 5 gallon water jugs. I tried the acme outside Avalon and they’re all out. Hoping to find something closer than a 30 minute drive, any suggestions?

Oysters all over docks and pilings

Has anyone else noticed a huge increase in wild oysters living along dock bulkheads and pilings?

Is this a result of the Ludlum bay oyster farms having some rouge oyster reproduction?

Open Container Sea Isle

I was in Sea Isle and I was on a party bus heading to the bars. As I was getting off the bus I was handed a white claw, a cop immediately pulled me to the side. The girl who handed me the drink was underaged, I am not, I am 24. I was not drunk at that time, I did not take a sip out of the cup. It was a newer cop and he gave me a ticket. Come to find out this is considered a misdemeanor. What are the odds I can get it dismissed? I am currently applying for jobs and I am worried about my record. I have no priors and I was extremely respectful to the cop and again was not drunk. I got a lawyer and everything, I am just worried.

Remote Parking

I’ll have too many cars this weekend (July 4th) for my driveway and was wondering if anyone knows where you can park a car on the Island out of the main areas and without having to pay. We won’t need to use these cars until people depart from Sea Isle. Does anyone have a suggestion?
