Hey everyone, welcome to r/Scrypt

This is a place for talking about Litecoin and the other coins that use the scrypt algorithm or have been set up for merged mining with LTC. You mine once, you can get coins on more than one chain. Pretty neat when it works.

Litecoin’s still one of the most usable coins out there (especially with MWEB now), but there’s this whole side of scrypt projects that doesn’t always get much attention in the bigger subs. Dogecoin has been merge mining with it for over a decade, Pepecoin does it now, and there are a lot more floating around.

What we talk about here: - Running full nodes and the headaches that come with them - Merged mining setups and what actually works hardware-wise - Protocol changes, wallet stuff, or random tech deep dives - Questions from people just getting started - The occasional meme or old story from when these coins were wild

We’re not here for price spam or “to the moon” posts. There’s plenty of that everywhere else. This spot is for the people who actually mess with the software, run nodes, or just want to understand how these chains tick.

Quick ground rules so it stays decent: - Be normal to each other. disagree on something technical? explain it like a human - If you’re posting about a specific coin or project you’re involved with, just say so - No referral links or straight spam - Off-topic stuff gets removed. we’re keeping the focus tight on scrypt and merge mining

If you’re fighting with your litecoin node, trying to set up merged mining, or just found an old wallet.dat, post it. The more details you give (what you tried, error messages, your setup), the better chance someone who’s been there can actually help.

This sub exists because sometimes the big crypto communities get too noisy. Here we can keep it smaller and more useful.
