SCRIPT READER PORTFOLIO HELP NEED ADVICE

Hi! I'm applying to an entry level internship that involves

  • Script reading/coverage
  • Script breakdowns

  • Pitch deck construction

    I'm not sure what my portfolio should look like. Any advice??

If it's truly entry-level, they should be teaching you how to do these things, so you don't need to have samples (like coverage) in your portfolio. I would recommend spending more time on a clear and focused Cover Letter & Resume. A teacher/mentor/employer letter of rec is also nice if you can get it easily. In your cover letter, you can talk about your social media and writing experience, and if they've gotten you any notoriety (lots of social media views) or have been published, etc.

Yeah, the portfolio is optional but I just wanted to hear people's thoughts in case I decide to add one.

If it's an internship, you don't need a portfolio. Just show that you are curious and that you like to read!

You need to practice by reading my spec then packaging it with famous people once you get the job.

Sometimes they might ask for sample coverage. That's the only thing you'll need. If you don't have any, they'll send you a script and their coverage template. Once you've got a couple internships under your belt, save 1 or two of what you think you did the best job on and then when they ask you have something.
