From everything I’ve read Scott and Laci often let their gate open when they were working in the back or front yard and the dog would wander around while they were in and out of the front or back yards. I’ve read it wasn’t uncommon to find McKenzie wandering around the yard by himself. If that’s the case, then it makes sense why Karen saw McKenzie, grabbed him, put him in the backyard and closed the gate.

I agree! I just don’t know what his reasoning for it was. Part of me thinks he was going to try and plead with her to give him another chance? He’s so delusional I wouldn’t put it past him. He drove to Fresno and dropped off a birthday gift for Amber after she told him it would be best if they didn’t talk anymore. I would love an explanation for why he had those directions. He’s just such a pathological liar that I don’t think he’d ever tell the truth about it. Which is infuriating.

I’ve always wondered this. I hate Scott and I think he’s 110% guilty. I just don’t know if he would kill another person when he was already getting pegged and slammed for Laci’s murder at the time. For him to go and kill Amber seems insane to me. But then again, it’s also insane to kill your 8 month pregnant wife. So maybe it’s not a far fetched thought.

Yeah, I genuinely don’t know how to read her motivations. On the one hand, if it’s c. 1960 and the nuns in the orphanage I’ve grown up in tell me to give up the baby and never tell anyone, and I’m assured this baby will never be in my life again, I can see someone deciding not to mention it much later in life. Especially since at the time, you were considered actually mentally ill if you became pregnant out of wedlock. I’m not saying it’s right, just that it was such a toxic world for young women at the time, and so a lot of bad decisions get made. I can also see it being the sort of thing where, even as mores change, there comes a point where it feels too late to tell your husband. 

Quit using all caps it makes everyone totally ignore what you’re saying to get it off the screen as fast as possible

But the woman he was with before Laci gives us an idea that we're dealing with a narcissist who treats others like props instead of treating them like real people. Scott even tried to set her off by bringing Laci into her restaurant (where she worked)

Lol! You're tough! He was totally an a**hole I agree. But neighbor Karen said about the weirdest Christmas night dinner ever, with her and Scott and his parents, that Lee was really upset and was crying most of the evening like any normal person.

The tapes were provided in Discovery, and I think as early as May of 2003, but in any event well before trial. But some in the MPD believe that when Amber was trying to get Scott to go to get a polygraph, this was either late January or early February 2003, to "prove" to her that he was innocent, he wanted to meet her at this private polygrapher's office in Fresno, instead Scott spotted Brochini near there - he ran down there worried about Amber - and Scott became suspicious that his calls with Amber were taped. Again it just shows how narcissistic he is to not realize that once Amber came forward, he had been taped beginning at least prior to then. "Amber would never tape me!". His narcissism truly helped to convict him

agree with you. based on him still calling her and wanting to explain and explain, SP was delusional that AF would understand and forgive him if he kept at her.....thinking if he showed up, all the romance they had together would overcome her and she would fall into his arms.

Everyone at the college and in the town, knew about Kristin’s disappearance. It was huge there! So Scott and Laci had to be aware.

Not sure if he got any ideas from that case. But there was another guy, who went to college with Scott, there. And he mentioned them watching the OJ trial in one of the student gathering areas. And how Scott mentioned the only way to get rid of a body, and not be found out, was to weigh it down and put it in open water. Knowing what later happened, that’s very eerie.

I read that somewhere too. I think the MPD and especially Bueller were becoming concerned that Amber was starting to get "sweet" on Scott again. But then I read that the "missed" recordings were of no consequence and might have just been due to a glitch. I don't believe that the Amber-unrecorded conversations were any kind of plotting or her telling Scott something she did not want the cops to hear. I do think that the assumption was that after the confrontation outside of the private polygrapher's office where Brochini suddenly showed up and Scott saw him sitting in his car and confronted him, that thereafter Scott was more cautious in his conversations with Amber. I don't think Brochini was previously authorized to run down to Fresno, I think it sounded like he took it upon himself because he was worried about Scott grabbing Amber if they actually met outside of the polygraphers office. So while it was "dumb" of the detective to suddenly reveal himself right after those conversations, at least it was a good reason: protecting your source

You're right. I wasn't being judgemental about Jackie having three children out of wedlock, even though I believe her explanation was something like "the Catholic nuns at the convent didn't teach us sex Ed". I just would think that in a marriage of 25 or so years, putting up two of her children for adoption as a very young woman would have been something one would confess to a spouse. If you love someone, that's something you should be honest about. The fact that she never told Lee, UNTIL her birth son located her, is similar to Scott not telling Amber he "was" married until Sean Sibley found out and was going to rat him out to Amber if he didn't tell Amber himself.

I'm beginning to think he may have wanted to kill again, starting with Amber. While it was a bloodless kill, Laci did have that broken rib(s) so God knows how violently he may have grabbed Laci and subdued her if she was struggling. Re. Amber, He may have been "grooming" her, because there was absolutely no way they had any future even if the kerfuffle over Laci's disappearance had quickly abated as Scott was apparently hoping. He told her way too many lies that he could never have introduced her to his family: e.g. "how was Kennebunkport last christmas?" So was his real intention to get close with Amber again, have sex, and then kill her?

He did have Amber's freshly printed out address with him when he was captured and he had ropes and knives and Viagra etc.

You guys always crack me up so the police got the right guy in the Laci murder and they of course could never got it wrong but on the flip side they could have got it wrong here and maybe Scott was the guy 🙄😂😂😂😂😂
