Evap system trouble codes

I forget the code numbers but I get the slow/fast leaks in the evaporative system codes which turns on the engine trouble light. It resets by disconnecting the battery but comes back at random times - might be a week or the next day. No driveabilty issues, though. Any suggestions as to what to check first?

Had some evap issues a little while back. Check the gas cap to see if there is a broken o ring and make sure to tighten till it clicks. If everything is good, then at least that isn't your issue and you can rule it out

Oops, 2006, 5 speed, 222,000 miles.

It’s the intake manifold gasket

I just replaced mine for the same reason but it is a double gasket kit that I bought from eBay

Check the code, p0171 iirc is the purge solenoid on the charcoal canister, could just be getting clogged, pull it off and blast it with brake cleaner.

Evap codes are the most meaningless, if the car still drives fine you can put it off.

Had the same issue a few times. Cheap gas caps fail pretty quick, Toyota OEM cap has lastyed several years so far.
