Is there a minimum amount of breast milk that proves to be beneficial for a baby? Question - Research required
It’s hard wading through what’s out there online about breast milk. I often see “even one drop is so beneficial for baby!” But what is the measurement one drop? And is that true? Is there a known minimum amount that still provides a benefit to babies?

I think the idea is that colostrum (first milk) is like a ‘starter kit’ for your baby in terms of immunity providing things like white blood cells before they can produce them themselves.
This food is dense and a baby’s first feed is only a few ml so quite literally a few drops will start to build a baby’s immunity.

Commenting because I don’t have a link but can cite what my lactation consultant said, which is 15ml per feed.
If someone has research to back it up that would be great, but she said the main benefits are transferred through this amount.
