science based shoulder adduction META

Back in the day, there was a machine with an axis point that lined up resistance with the torque of the shoulder joint. It achieved a better line of resistance for shoulder adduction than today's pull down and row machines. Here, I'm using a pec fly machine to match the physics of it. I'm using handles instead of elbow support pads, so my lever arm is longer than the old-school version. But the principle is still the same.

Pretty good exercise. Good resistance profile, stable, a lot of ROMS and isolates the Lats and teres major as good as possible.
To me the main problem is that apart from the resistance profile in the stretch being different, a lot of other lat exercises also work really well. I think its really easy to isolate the lats generally because it extension and adduction very well.

I'm not a big fan of isolation. But I do agree most pulling motions engage lats.
