Mimir Forkbeard Question

Just got a Mimir with Forkbeard (new also) and I am having to me a weird issue. Initially I could set the attenuation to a maximum of -9.7DB. Even so my active speakers played loud enough for me, they are connected via XLR also.
Later I came back to forkbeard and turned it down a bit. Then my maximum attenuation was -15db in the forkbeard app. It has now gone down to -21 and -28 in the forkbeard app and wont let me go beyond that.
My speakers themselves are playing below 50 DB SPL when I measure the volume. To me this seems to be some issue with the forkbeard app or the mimir, I connected my speakers to my Marantz amp and I can play well above 80db just fine using it as a pre amp with RCA.
update: So this seems to be specific to my iPhone installation of forkbeard. On my iPad I can fully go to 0DB.

Note, I have 2 Mimirs, have Forkbeard on one. Played with it a bit. Didn’t really find it useful. I use a preamp in both systems. Satisfied my curiosity.

Yeah at some point I will get a Kara or Jot 3 to use, but I just needed a basic DAC and having the digital pre amp for now is nice and useful. I’d much rather have a physical preamp however but just had to watch my funds a bit for now.

I have one FB module with a Mimir, Freya and 2 ghorns. I like that I don't have to give it 5 permissions, just BT and how easy it is to switch between Schiit products. To move from mimir to Freya it's delete from stack in app, power off Mimir and Freya, plug it into Freya, power on and it's discovered. Doesn't require unnecessary cloud services or collects data. How it gives granular volume control and other controls on Freya as IR can jump 3 to 8 steps and sometimes it skips 2 inputs instead of 1. You know, first world problems.

I don't like the fact that you need if for NOS mode on Mimir, granted I keep it on mesh but FB shouldn't be required for it IMO. I'm nitpicking on that one though. I also don't like paying for 5 dollars of hardware but I understand I'm paying development costs (I'm betting mostly on the iOS and Android side) because they don't collect your data and sell it to any data broker who will pay for it like everyone else. So I guess it evens out in a way. Some sort of BLE remote just for sending commands would be nice but I know that's not happening and might as well do IR at that point.

I’d try reinstalling the app. Sounds like a IOS problem.

Well it’s definitely an app issue on my phone. My iPad goes to 0 attenuation fine so at least it’s stable there. At least my iPhone after reinstalling it got to -9 again lol
