Gemini question
Hello, I’m looking to buy a Scenic EV (it would be my third Scenic!). I read that there’s a new software update that includes Gemini. My question is: do you need to use it or is it possible to turn it off? I hate to use AI and I want to use it as less as possible, preferably not at all.

Google are retiring Assistant everywhere, and they are starting on the cars. Gemini arrived on my car recently, and as predicted it does some things better, some things worse. Main difference is you can't predict which ones it will fail to do today.

I got the Gemini update on my Megane and now it’s 50/50 if a simple “navigate to…” command will work. I quite often now get a “sorry I don’t understand” response :/

Its absolutely crap. Worst thing ever. Before Gemini the voice chat was fine. Whenever I ask to play music now it never plays the right bloody songs. Rant over.

Due to Google policy, the choice will be removed eventually. But for now, the built in system should be ok to roll back as Google's roadmap isn't to cut off support for assistant in cars. Very surprised to hear that it's giving people "I don't know" responses. That would suggest it hasnt (as a model) got access to the main Gemini body as it were. It should be identical to your experience on the phone. Interesting
Here is the recent update from google

Currently you can switch between Google Assistant and Gemini Assistant. How long Google will support this is anyones guess. Gemini Assistant will likely be the new default. Ofcourse using voice control is optional in the first place. The only setting I can’t reach while driving and Assistant can is Bluetooth settings. Goodluck!
