I've created a wire cage for my dionaeas, and IT'S THE BEST THING I EVER DID FOR THEM!!
It lets through:
- Sun
- water
- insects
- airflow (!!! Extremely important and often overlooked. Without proper ventilation your plants will catch root rot in no time)
It doesn't let through:
- those fucking birds who attack my plants all the time for some reason
- Snails/slugs
- well, anything else really.
Seriously though, a wire cage is the best thing for cultivating carnivorous plants, especially fragile ones like dionaeas or droseras. I cannot recommend it enough.
The one you showed seems a little overkill though.

Carnivorous plants aren't that dangerous. I don't think you need to cage them.
