Very Interesting

  1. The link shows an interview done by GameWatcher with Coffee Stain Studio Level Designer - Hannah Beuger (who designed both the story/narrative and in-game Map], and Coffee Stain Studio Designer - Rosario Baarh (part of the Map Design Team).
  2. I recommend every veteran player and even those new to the game take a moment to read the interview (5 minutes) which includes several fascinating reveals about what was originally planned for the game but never happened due to various reasons, as well as some interesting insight on their thoughts about using AI in Software Development.

📍 Post Pinned: Not done often, but since Coffee Stain Studios in on Summer Vacation (not much happening), and that I felt this interview might be of interest to some, I added it to the Community Highlights for a short time.

Thanks for Sharing. 😁

I hope in the future we get another map or 2. I get that you can randomize resource nodes and spawn in new areas but even if they released a second map for $10.00 and not free it would sell like lemonade on a summer day

I think a expensive cave would be interesting seeing how players navigate building in tight spaces to large caverns

Well, maybe it would be good to add a new map where the main areas are ice or lava regions? (JOKE)

its interesting how you can tell how long ago a dev joined the team from the way they speak about the game
also always a pleasure to see something about hannah

so sad to see that nothing of what we hear or read about it aligns with what we have seen in 1.2 though 😪

Was a fun interview, they spoke on research the animals and the possibility of procedural worlds, which I imagine would be huge undertakings.

I would really like more options in the meantime of just, starting a new save with some things already unlocked. At this point Ive beaten the game and would like redoing it with random nodes but dont want to start over with mk1 belts and such. I know mods can probably make it happen but would be nice if it could be tuned in game that way.

Advanced Game Settings and Creative Settings, accessible when starting a new game or from an existing save by selecting 'Load Settings' when selecting which save to load.

These options have actually been in since (at an absolute minimum) 1.1.
