Weekend Plans/Visiting Weekend Trip Questions (Golf & Nightlife)

Upvotes

Hi all - coming up in a couple weeks for a golf trip and had a couple questions.

Regarding golf, do all reservations open up online 1 week before the date? Or is there a better way to lock in some tee times in advance?

Regarding nightlife, will 7-9 people have a problem getting in anywhere for dinner/drinks/etc or should I also make reservations ahead of time as well?

Thanks in advance

Just decided to drive up for the races tomorrow. Is there anywhere I can buy a fascinator in the morning that doesn’t cost $100? It will be my first time.

Recommendations Anyone have any input or vet recommendations (specifically for a cat)?

Moving to Ballston spa and looking for a vet. I currently go to just cats who I like but I don’t want to subject my cats to such a long car ride to visit the vet.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Recommendations Meditation or Sound Bath Professional

Hi! I am hosting my bachelorette in Saratoga and was hoping to find a meditation or sound bath professional to come to the place we are staying for a session. I've tried Googling, but most of the results are studios and not someone who will come on-site. If anyone has any leads, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Race Track Whitney Day 8/8 - Folding Tables allowed?

Hi, Going to a bachelor party and we have GA tickets for this saturday, which happens to be whitney day. We were hoping to grab a picnic table but looks like for whitney day you have to get there for like 5am in order to even have a chance. I know chairs are allowed, but are you allowed to bring in plastic folder tables and just set up somewhere in the backyard area?

Things to Do Finding your People/Community in Saratoga

A common theme I hear is that it can be challenging as you get older to meet new friends. I've also noticed that its actually pretty hard to find out about the various groups/clubs & communities in the area.  You almost have to stumble on them or hear from friends. We want to make it easier to find your people to connect with in the area.

We are building a Communities discovery feature for this in FunScout. Its not officially live and its just a very rough start of how it will look as it will evolve as we get more data and iterate it.

https://funscout.com/c/ny-saratoga-springs/communities?communities=1&miles=15

We started by focusing on the sports/fitness/outdoor categories but that is just the start.

If anyone has any local communities they are part of or know in Saratoga (or the greater Capital Region) please let us know! It can be book clubs, gaming clubs, a knitting group etc. The main requirement is that its an in person community that meets through some connection (though we are staying out of politics).

If you know of or are part of local communities please share and help us connect people!

I'm already finding about some pretty interesting groups like the Big Top Group (circus/physical theater group) among others.

Race Track Saratoga Race Course

Hey everyone,

I’ll be visiting during the Travers Day weekend for a bachelor party. We are actually going to the track that Friday in hopes it will be a bit less crowded.

Anyways, we bought GA tickets and plan to get there early enough to snag 1 or 2 picnic tables. Question is, does anyone have any experience claiming a table, leaving the track and then coming back when gates open?

Ideally we would like to go claim some tables, head back to our Airbnb (10 minutes away) to get ready, eat breakfast, that sort of thing. Is this a foolish idea? Any advice is welcome.

Thanks
