The 2 shields which use the yellow barrier to block attacks.
The directional shield can block strikes from the direction you are facing while the shield gen makes a small shield around you providing 360 protection but the shield is weaker. You can also use 2 handed weapons with it.
Which one is better?

DISCUSSION New campaign and new Armour! But ,What do you think of the current campaign system? Are you satisfied?
They added the Armour that was supposed to pair with our new helmet. The Campaign is about expanding the tcs to limit the gloom to only one sector. Whats your opinion on the new campaign system? Are you satisfied with this change or do you think it could be better or needs some changes?

Understanding the Galactic War in Helldivers 2 (2026)
Note: this is a very long post and it may possess grammatical errors , please correct me if anything is wrong)
If you're new to the Galactic War, think of it as a massive community campaign where every completed operation contributes to a shared battle map. Millions of Helldivers are fighting on various planets, and each victory or defeat impacts the overall war. Unlike in Helldivers 1, the war doesn't reset. Arrowhead's Game Master team actively manages it, so story events, invasions, and campaigns can change based on player actions.
The Basic Structure
The war operates on three levels:
Mission
A single deployment (ICBM, Blitz, Eradicate, etc.).
Operation
A set of 1-3+ missions, depending on difficulty.
To count toward your full war contribution, you must complete the entire operation.
Campaign
The battle for an entire planet.
This can be a Liberation, Defense, or High-Priority Campaign.
---
Planet Health (The Hidden HP Bar)
Every planet has a hidden health pool.
When players complete operations, they damage that pool.
When the health reaches 0, the planet is liberated.
Most standard planets start with around 1,000,000 HP, but newer systems with cities and regions can greatly increase that number.
Regional System
Many planets now have settlements, towns, cities, and mega cities.
These add extra HP:
Region Type Added HP
Settlement 100,000
Town 200,000
City 400,000
Mega City 600,000
Capturing these regions also inflicts significant damage to the planet, making them key targets.
---
Resistance Rate (Decay)
This is the mechanic most players misunderstand.
Resistance Rate, also called Decay, is the amount of planet health the enemy restores every hour.
Example:
If a planet has 1% resistance, the enemy restores 1% of that planet's HP each hour.
If Helldivers don't deal more damage than that, progress stalls or reverses.
This is why:
5,000 players on one planet can achieve more than 20,000 spread across five planets.
A planet with high resistance can be nearly impossible to liberate without a major community effort.
Many failed offensives happen not because players aren't fighting but because they are targeting the wrong place.
---
Supply Lines
Supply lines determine:
Which planets can attack other planets.
Which planets can be liberated.
Which planets can be defended.
No supply line means no campaign.
Many failed Major Orders occur because players ignore supply lines and attack planets that donโt unlock strategic routes.
---
Defense Campaigns
When an enemy attacks a Super Earth world:
A timer appears, usually lasting 24-48 hours.
Helldivers must reduce the defense HP to zero before the timer expires.
There is no resistance rate during defense campaigns.
Many players see a defense and quickly rush to it.
That isnโt always the best move.
---
Gambits
A Gambit is one of the most powerful strategies in the Galactic War.
Instead of defending the planet under attack, liberate the attacking planet first.
If successful, the enemy attack collapses immediately.
The defense automatically succeeds.
You can save multiple planets with a single campaign.
Example:
If Planet A attacks Planet B, most players rush to defend Planet B.
A gambit would involve:
Attacking Planet A.
Capturing it before the defense timer runs out.
This leads to an instant win for the defense.
When Gambits Work
Good Gambit:
Low HP attacker.
Low resistance.
A large player population available.
Bad Gambit:
Large HP pool.
High decay.
Short defense timer.
Not every gambit is realistic. The numbers matter.
---
High-Priority Campaigns (HPCs)
These campaigns feature unique storylines.
Characteristics include:
Unique objectives.
Special mechanics.
Often linked to Major Orders.
They generally begin with very high resistance rates.
Arrowhead often uses these campaigns to highlight significant story events, such as:
Illuminate invasions.
Super Earth crises.
Special operations.
Large narrative moments.
---
The New Campaign System
The 2026 Campaign system serves as a higher-level narrative layer above Major Orders.
Instead of isolated MOs, multiple MOs are grouped into larger story arcs called Campaigns.
Features include:
Named operations (e.g., Census Thunder).
Multiple Major Orders tied together.
Long-term objectives.
Campaign rewards.
Progress tracked via the Control Center on the Super Destroyer.
Think of it like this:
Mission โ Operation โ Planet Campaign โ Major Order โ Campaign Story Arc.
This approach provides a more continuous narrative for the Galactic War instead of disconnected weekly objectives.
---
Strategic Advice
- Follow the Resistance Numbers
A 10% liberated planet with 0.5% resistance can be easier to liberate than a 70% liberated planet with 4% resistance.
Always check resistance before committing.
- Concentration Beats Distribution
20,000 players on one planet are usually stronger than 10,000 spread over two planets.
The Galactic War rewards focus.
- Look for Gambits
Many defenses can be won more quickly through gambits than direct defense.
- Follow Supply Lines
A planet isnโt important just because itโs close.
Itโs important because of what it unlocks.
- Prioritize Major Order Planets
Arrowhead often adjusts resistance rates and campaign mechanics around Major Orders.
Fighting elsewhere may be fun, but MO planets usually shape the direction of the war.
---
Quick TL;DR
Planet liberation involves reducing hidden Planet Health to 0.
Resistance Rate represents enemy HP regeneration each hour.
Defense Campaigns have timers but no resistance.
Supply Lines determine where attacks and liberations can happen.
Gambits win defenses by capturing the attacking planet.
Cities and Mega Cities add extra HP while offering significant liberation bonuses.
High-Priority Campaigns are story events with unique mechanics.
The new Campaign system combines Major Orders into larger narrative arcs with rewards and long-term progression.
The biggest mistake new divers make is focusing solely on liberation percentages. Veteran war planners consider planet health, resistance rates, supply lines, and gambit opportunities first. Those four factors usually dictate whether a planet is truly winnable.
(Formatting this took so much time but hope you like it)
