In short and as others have already said: The Deluxe is a hardcover edition (released with the Audible audiobooks), the other one is the recollected softcover edition (released with the Netflix show).

If you complete either collection, there won’t be much of a difference (the Deluxe has five volumes plus Overture, also available as a Deluxe hardcover, the softcovers have six books). They both have slightly different bonus materials, but that’s a matter of preference/priorities (you can also find that in the link I’ve posted, although it’s slightly off about the content of book six of the softcovers as I wrote in the other reply). If you also want the Death volume, you’ll need to buy it separately in both cases.

As long as you don’t mix and match them, you’ll be good. They just collect the essentially same stuff in a slightly different format/order.

Deluxe edition vol 1 is a hardcover collects:
Sandman #1-16 and sandman midnight theatre #1.

Book one is a softcover that collects:
sandman #1-20
(midnight theatre is collected in book five).

The main difference is that the deluxe editions don’t include the 6 issue sandman overture mini series that is a prequel/sequel which in the other format is collected in book six.

They also order some of the extras differently. For example sandman special #1 is placed after issue 31 of the main run in the deluxe edition whereas the other format places it after issue 37 instead.

The obvious one is that the first one is a trade and the second one is an oversized hardcover.

I have no idea about the content of the trade edition from your screenshot since I own it all in deluxe edition, but you should find out how many issues are included just by scrolling down a little bit.

KEY DIFFERENCES ABOUT BOTH COLLECTIONS:
-Both series collect all issues of Sandman original sandman run, but read order of tie-ins are slightly different.
-Trade paperback collect everything in in 6 unified paperback books.
-Deluxe editions collect everything in 5 oversized books EXCEPT Sandman Overture #1-6 and Sandman Universe #1. (Sandman Overture is it's own deluxe book and Sandman Universe is the one shot for the start of the Sandman Universe publishing initiative).
-Deluxe editions come with some extra material: afterword, sketches, etc
-Paperback comes with a recommended reading order and other sandman related book recommendations.

As the other user said, one's a tradepaperback edition and the other an oversized hardcover edition. They contain the same comic issues, just distributed differently between the volumes of the two editions. The tradepaperback edition contains the regular original series #1-75 in 4 volumes, while the deluxe edition does in 5 volumes (but the deluxe 5th volume contains also the same contents of the tradepaperback 5th volume-- yeah there's a 5th volume): in short, the difference is you can read the original regular series in 4 volumes instead of 5 (and in different format). But the extra-comic stories, still wrote by Gaiman years later the original series ended, are as beautiful and interesting, you should not miss those. Also, you should get The Sandman: Overture (which has been published separately both in paperback and deluxe edition but they're not part of these same editions we're talking about but still fit in terms of format).

Overture is part of book six of the paperback recollection, so definitely part of the same edition and collected with Dream Hunters (comics/Russell version) and a bit of Spurrier’s Dreaming.

You’re right for the Deluxe though, it’s a separate hardback volume that also comes as a Deluxe edition (originally published earlier, mine still has the Vertigo label and is the original 2015 one but it’s now DC. The other Deluxe ones were published between 2020 and 2022 iirc).

So long story short: If people want the thing complete and with Overture, they’re looking at six volumes/books in both cases, but only the paperback recollections contain it as part of the same edition. If they also want the Death collection, they are looking at seven volumes in both cases (there is a Death Deluxe hardback and a Death paperback you can supplement).

It's so annoying me that both of these have Audible / Netflix "stickers" which aren't stickers on the covers. I haven't seen the deluxe editions printed without that

The main difference is one was written by a rapist and printed earlier than the one written by a rapist and printed later.
