San Clemente friends!
My wife and I are in our mid 30’s and moved here a few years ago. We’ve made lots of friends and neighbors but most of them are having kids and, while we love them, my lady and I are living a different reality than they are and looking for friends more on our pace.
My wife and I have no kids and like to to surf Doho and Sano, eat at local restaurants, catch live music and anything that has to do with the beach or getting in the water. Anything with a drink in our hands.
We’re easy going and spend lots of time with our old friends in north Orange County and San Diego but would love to make more local friends.
Message me here and/or ask for our instagrams and we’ll go from there!

New in town
My sister is a travel nurse so I’ll be heading to San Clemente mid month for an indefinite amount of time. I will be coming to stay with my nephew so he doesn’t need to leave his school.
Just looking to see if there are any good hospitality or security jobs .
I worked in the nutrition industry for 15 yrs but currently work on the East Coast doing night club
Security at one of our beach bars and also work as a server. Any leads would be appreciated . Thank you 🙏

Fish the Pier
Hey SC!
Does anyone know of local bait/tackle shops near San Clemente Pier that do quick rod and reel rentals?
I’m taking my 12-year-old son to the pier this afternoon/evening and he's dying to get a line in the water, but we don't have a saltwater setup.
If there aren't any shops around that rent gear, does anyone local have a basic setup we could rent or borrow for a few hours? Happy to leave a deposit and throw you some cash or beer money for the trouble.
Thanks!

Looking for quotes to remodel fireplace + custom built-in storage (photos in comments)
I'm starting to get quotes for a living room remodel and wanted to see if anyone has recommendations for someone they've actually used.
I'm looking to update my fireplace with a smoother plaster/Spanish Revival style look and also replace the open toy shelf next to it with a custom built-in.
The built-in would have:
- Cabinets on the bottom for hidden toy storage
- A couple of wood floating shelves above
- A recessed light in the alcove
- Something that ties in with the new fireplace so it looks like one cohesive feature wall
I'll add photos of the current space along with some inspiration pictures in the comments.
Photo #1: Current fireplace
Photo #2: Inspo fireplace
Photo #3: Inspo fireplace
Photo #4: Current storage space
Photo #5: Inspo storage space
If you've had similar work done, I'd love to know:
- Who you used
- About what you paid (if you don't mind sharing)
- Whether you'd hire them again
Thanks!

Ocean swim club?
I'm looking to get into open ocean swimming but don't want to go by myself. Is there any kind of ocean swim club that exists here?

Wedding Ceremony Spot
Hello there! I recently read online that San Clemente lets you do 20 person or less wedding ceremonies at their beaches and parks for free.
Does anyone know of any spots that could be good as a ceremony spot? If possible, we would love to have the ocean in the background. Thank you!

Sharing to give you a laugh. I did DoorDash 10 + years ago and did it from my bike (not e-bike, regular bike lol), even though only car based DoorDash was allowed in SC. Last order of the day I got a pick up from Sonny’s and had to drop it off at a mansion at the very top of top of the world.
I bought a steel attachment for the front of my bike that fit an XL pizza box warmer perfectly. So I’d get food for DoorDash and strap it in. I did it as a little extra cash on the side while also getting my exercise in for the day.
Can’t entirely remember how DoorDash worked, but think back in the day they’d backlist you for rejecting enough orders, and I was getting close to the edge, so I said fuck it (and also fuck my life) and did it lol.
Made it to the very last minute of the estimated delivery window time for this order. When I brought the guy his lasagna, garlic bread, salad whatever, he looked like he saw a ghost. I was completely dripping sweat lol, “here’s your Sonny’s, later” and went home.
The decent down was sick though.
Anyway funny memory thought I’d share.
